I think there have been some interesting portrayals of Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes adaptations, but for me, nobody has ever played the character better than Andrew Scott in Sherlock. The depth he brings to the character is true to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's works, but Scott also offers something unique that transcends the literary source, too. Scott is a fantastic actor and is brilliant in any role, but I have yet to see another Moriarty performance that is better than his.
