It was recently confirmed that Robert Eggers' rumored Labyrinth remake will actually be a sequel to the original film, but my mind immediately wonders if it's a good idea to produce a follow-up without David Bowie. While the fantastical world of the titular maze could be home to many other evil beings, it's hard to deny how much the original movie's impact can be accredited to Bowie's performance as Jareth. Hopefully, Eggers doesn't elect to recast the character, but instead create a villain who can live up to Bowie's charisma and menace.
