We finally learned the details surrounding Eugene's death in The Last Of Us season 2 episode 6. This was a far more important part of Ellie and Joel's story than I imagined it would be, as it further drove a wedge between them and let Ellie know definitively that Joel had lied to her about what happened to the Fireflies. While I can understand why Ellie was so upset, I think that Joel absolutely made the right call. If Eugene turned more rapidly than expected, not only would that jeopardize Gail's life, but it could have put all of Jackson at risk. It was a tough call, but the correct one.
