While Thor film will no doubt be bad news for the God of Thunder and could also spell disaster for the Marvel Cinematic Universe at large. As a result, Gorr will most likely become just as exciting of a villain for Phase 4 than Kang (if not more so).

Gorr the God Butcher was created by Marvel writer Jason Aaron, making his first appearance in Thor: God of Thunder #2. When his prayers for his family to be saved were tragically left unanswered, Gorr was banished from his own people for believing that the gods couldn't exist. However, once he learned that they did exist and simply couldn't be bothered to help save his family from death, Gorr swore revenge on every god in existence, committed to killing all that he could find. His task was also made easier when he came into possession of the Necrosword, the blade of Knull the Symbiote God.

While Kang's endgame has been described as loftier with goals of conquering all time and its deviations in a bid for supreme power, Gorr's motives are deeply personal, seeking out every god he can find while still being left unsatisfied after he's murdered them. Additionally, his conflict with Thor in the comics was huge, as he left a lasting impact on the God of the Thunder even after he was defeated. Because of Gorr, Thor spent a long time doubting his worthiness and being unable to wield his hammer Mjolnir, which opened the door for Jane Foster to pick it up and become The Mighty Thor. Seeing as how Natalie Portman will be returning to the MCU in this same capacity, it's very likely that Gorr's MCU adaptation will be largely the same as the comics, and he'll most likely influence several status quo changes as a result.

Gorr the God Butcher and Chris Hemsorth as Thor

While Gorr may not be seeking to take over all of time like Kang, the revenge quest he'll most likely have in Thor: Love and Thunder sounds just as entertaining and intriguing. Not only that, but Christain Bale's impressive performance skills will only add to the dynamics Gorr the God Butcher already possess as one of Marvel's greatest villains. While Jonathan Majors' He Who Remains variant of Kang was certainly intriguing and had his own draws, Gorr's more personal story and tragic origins will likely make him the more exciting foe, ing equally complex villains in the MCU such as Thanos and Erk Killmonger.

All things considered, the official version of Kang the Conqueror has yet to be fully revealed and was only teased in Loki's finale. Likewise, nothing concrete has yet been confirmed about Christian Bale's Gorr, as Thor: Love and Thunder won't be released until 2022. It's more than possible that both villains could be equally engaging and interesting when they debut in Marvel's Phase 4. However, if the comics and similar MCU villains of the past are any indications, Gorr the God Butcher will likely become the more exciting and popular villain over Kang the Conqueror in the near future.
