As The Vampire Diaries makes the move from Netflix to Peacock and HBO Max, the TVD fandom has come back into focus. Fans of the show are an enthusiastic bunch, and they hold the supernatural drama in high esteem years after the finale aired. The fandom has its own set of debates about which characters are the best and which ships made for the best couples, but there are also several points that they unanimously agree on — like the hilarity of the countless "deaths" that Bonnie was subjected to. These memes capture the quirks of the TVD fanbase like no other.
TVD = Their World
From the moment it premiered in 2009, The Vampire Diaries reached unprecedented levels of adulation and popularity. Fans were obsessed with Stefan and Elena's relationship, and the triangle it formed once Damon entered the picture.
This obsession with the show continues to date, and viewers are definitely still in love with it. In fact, TVD forms a part of their daily routine and comes before most other things. This meme sums up the fandom's devotion to the show perfectly.
Stelena Vs. Delena
Funnily enough, the rivalry between Stelena shippers and Delena shippers is very much like a war. Fans of good and kind Stefan can't see why Elena, who was so similar to him, would pick his morally corrupt and dangerous brother to spend her life with.
Delena fans were vindicated when Damon and Elena did end up having their happily ever after because they think he brought out the best in her. For these fans, following her heart was the best decision Elena made, but the debate continues unresolved.
Did Someone Say Hybrid?
Some words mean very different things to TVD enthusiasts, because of what they meant on the CW drama. Normally, a hybrid would signify an eco-friendly car to most people, but the fandom will always think of their favorite wolf-vampire hybrid, Klaus.
One of the central plots of the show was Klaus unleashing his lethal hybrid side, for which he needed Elena. Despite his villainy, Klaus quickly became a fan favorite who was worshiped for his enigmatic ways.
Bonnie And Her Deaths
The shock value of death wore off quickly in The Vampire Diaries because most of the main characters would definitely come back, or be trapped in an alternate reality for a bit before descending back to their usual timeline.
Bonnie was someone who died too many times and returned as many times, which made fans immune to her "deaths" on the show. In fact, some of her best plot lines originated from her temporary demise, so fans didn't mind it at all.
The Tournament Of The Vampires
It's no secret that The Vampire Diaries and Twilight were heavily compared to each other, since they both emerged together at a time when the vampires were seeing their Renaissance.
The Vampire Diaries even made jokes about the movies, so the fans, of course, jumped to prove the might of the Salvatores against the Cullens. Both were, of course, fantastic in their own lanes, but TVD diehards found Klaus, Damon, and their vampires much more formidable than sparkly Edward.
The Age Conflict
Fans couldn't get over it when Klaus and Caroline finally got together, because it was, and continues to be, the most popular ship on TVD. No one really cared about the massive age difference between the two, since Klaus was almost a whole millennium older than teenage Caroline.
However, fans were instantly grossed out by Alaric and Caroline's pairing, who was 42 years old. He was much younger than Klaus, but it's safe to say that his role as teacher and guardian overshadowed the unrequited feelings he had for the blonde vamp.
When Stelena And Delena Fans United

The greatest fear of the Salvatore brothers was losing Elena, and, in college, Elena seemed like she was on her way out of their lives for good. She didn't want to date either Stefan or Damon and chose to spend her time with human Liam instead.
This was one of the few occasions when both Delena and Stelena shippers felt the same way and ed hands to mourn Elena's short-lived relationship with Liam as the brothers watched.
Eternal Hope
Even though the TVDU has come to a definitive end, eager fans can't help but hope that there will be a reunion episode or season where they could see their favorites back on the telly together.
Fans are self-aware of the delusion in this thinking, but they'll always have hope. The fact that a number of iconic shows have had reunion episodes definitely feeds into this!
Elena Fans
TVD diehards were divided over how they felt about Elena Gilbert's exit from the show in season 6, but Elena fans were sorely disappointed that the show went on without the main character who held it together.
These viewers consider Elena's sleep as the last few moments of the show, and her exit as the end. The show did indeed change once she left — one faction didn't mind watching it without her, while the other mourned.
The End
Whether fans liked it or not, the show did go on for two more seasons. The final outing of The Vampire Diaries was extremely emotional and nostalgic, with the return of the old guard like Katherine, Elena, Vicki, Kelly, and more.
Tragically, many people had to make sacrifices and say goodbye for good, which left fans teary-eyed. Stefan's demise, Katherine's death, the return of human Elena and Damon, and the bittersweet reunion of the brothers in the afterlife was tear-jerking for all.
