The Sims 4: My Wedding Stories game pack, will revolutionize the traditional style of Sims weddings and relationships upon its February release.
Cheat codes in The Sims franchise are as famous as any character in the games. Many cheats have spanned across all 4 Sims incarnations and are instantly recognizable. With a game as vast as The Sims 4 and offering countless gameplay options, many players reach for a shortcut. Sims cheats can vary from vast riches to free furniture, to killing sims and bringing them back to life. Since the release of The Sims 4 in 2014, cheats have become more powerful in gameplay than ever.
Shift + ] / [
Players of The Sims 4 will be familiar with how ridiculous the sizing of some objects can be. Items like the enormous cupcake machine have become a meme among Sims players for being difficult to fit into sims' homes, making them difficult to use.
Using Shift + ] / [ in build and buy mode allows players to size objects up and down. This can help reduce objects that cannot fit in tight spaces. Alternatively, they can make small objects, such as toys, easier to see. Best of all, objects can still function after changing size. This cheat is limited, however, in that sims interactions often don't accommodate the new size, leading to glitchy animations. Sims developers have tried to override this issue by offering more sizes in patch updates. Still, the problem persists.
Sims.Remove_All_Buffs
Moodlets in The Sims can affect gameplay. When a sim feels too uncomfortable, they can refuse to do tasks. Emotions with strong points, such as sadness after witnessing a death, can cause a sim to be in a bad mood for days. This often results in sims refusing to engage in activities the player wants them to do.
Sims.Remove_All_Buffs wipes all moodlets of a selected sim, leaving them feeling just fine. Moodlets from previous activities will no longer affect the sim. For a while, however, sims won't have any strong feelings about their activities. Luckily, moodlets do quickly return. Unfortunately, this cheat wipes all moodlets rather than individuals, an issue die-hard Sims fans have tried to correct through mods, only available for PC.
Sims.Fill_All_Commodities
Is there anything more frustrating than trying a long activity with sims, such as going on a Star Wars expedition or exploring the jungle, and the sim gets tired? A sim’s needs can provide realism, but can inhibit gameplay when adventuring.
Using Sims.Fill_All_Commodities will set all of your sim's needs to maximum. This makes it easier to perform long tasks without interruption. Certain sims activities, such as songwriting, have to be completed all at once. If a sim is about to go to work, a good mood while working will prevent them from getting stressed, helping them earn a raise or promotion. For players that prefer a sense of realism, this cheat may not be one of frequent use.
Bb.EnableFreeBuild
Certain lots on The Sims cannot be edited. Public buildings such as parks or workplaces can’t be redecorated. This can be an issue if sims frequent these lots. In The Sims 4: University expansion pack, making a dormitory personal can be difficult when the game doesn't allow for decoration or furniture changes.
By activating Bb.EnableFreeBuild, players can decorate any lot as desired. Players can add any last-minute items that a sim may require, as well as removing objects. If a pre-made lot doesn't match gameplay, simmers can add customizations or demolish them.
Bb.ShowLiveEditObjects
Some objects on The Sims are not available to purchase in build and buy mode. Many objects are reserved for decorating areas of Sims worlds that cannot be changed even through bb.enablefreebuild. These are known as environment objects or debug objects.
Enabling the Bb.ShowLiveEditObjects cheat allows simmers to access over 1000 hidden objects to add detail to custom builds. Best of all, debug items are free. These can add extra customization, which is useful when building on a budget. This is one of the better cheats The Sims has to offer, as it allows players to override anything missing when builds were created by its developers.
FreeRealEstate On
When a new household is started, it can be annoying when The Sims only provides a 20,000 simoleon budget to purchase a home. If a player has a wealthy sim in mind for gameplay, this doesn’t match the story in mind. While money cheats are available, moving into a cheap property to add simoleons is a waste of time.
The FreeRealEstate cheat allows players to move into any household they want. This prevents having to save up thousands of simoleons to purchase the ideal home. The cheat allows simmers to concentrate on the life simulation aspects of The Sims rather than saving money. There is little downside or issue surrounding this cheat, but it does require other money cheats to afford rent and decor.
Careers.Promote
New Sims households always start unemployed and at the bottom of the career ladder at the start of a new game. This can be annoying as it takes much time and skill-building to work up to the desired job.
Hitting Careers.Promote in the cheats log will let the sim move up one career level per entry. This cheat comes with all the money bonuses and careers reward objects that come with each promotion. Players can skip one of the hardest elements of the Sims games - skill building and working hard to build the career bar up to promotion. This cheat offers extra control in what career level the sim reaches, rather than straight to the top. For players who like to graft their way up, this cheat won't be used often.
Bb.MoveObjects
The grid on build and buy mode can prove useful in working out the spacing of builds so they function well in live mode. However, the grid system can mean objects are placed awkwardly.
Using Bb.MoveObjects can allow simmers to place an object anywhere they desire without grid restrictions. This adds an extra level of personalized design. Players can add objects on top of one another. On occasion, sims won't be able to reach said objects and use them. In the majority of cases, however, they still function, making it one of the most useful cheats in the game. Bb.MoveObjects also helps resolve some of the more glitchy aspects of The Sims, as many simmers will be familiar with their sim calling out "Choo Wagga Choo Choo!" because there's a plate on the floor.
Cas.FullEditMode
Sometimes Sims randomizations can make sims look odd, especially when genetics are involved. Many players are familiar with their Sims characters inheriting Vlad the Vampire’s infamous eyebrows. Randomized townies in Sims worlds also prove distracting when they show up wearing a hot dog costume on a date and ruin the gameplay illusion.
Cas.FullEditMode allows players to make unlimited edits to a sim as if from scratch. Any part of the sim’s appearance, from their eye color to their bone structure, can be changed. Even better, if a sim grows up to have undesirable traits, the cheat allows players to edit a sims personality to suit the character. This cheat is one of the best cheats The Sims has to offer due to its limitless abilities.
Motherlode
Motherlode is the most iconic cheat in The Sims franchise. It has appeared in every iteration of the game since The Sims original game was released in 2000. Rather than working hard to earn simoleons, sims can hit the jackpot when the cheat adds 50,000 simoleons to their funds.
Money is everything in The Sims. It puts a roof over a sim’s head and allows them to afford the objects to fulfill their needs and make their house a home. Simoleons are essential for going into town and enjoying local experiences, or exploring new worlds. Having funds in The Sims is required to simply keep a sim alive, by buying them food to prevent them from starving to death. The motherlode cheat is the most essential cheat in the game, and the most popular amongst simmers for good reason. This necessity makes motherlode the most important and the best cheat in the entire Sims franchise.
