One thing nobody can deny about the film is that it has some hilarious and some emotional, tear-inducing moments. Whether utilizing nostalgia or an organic emotional reaction the film will and has left fans in tears and the comedy used is more fitting to Star Wars than in The Last Jedi and is a real plus of the film. Here are 5 things in The Rise Of Skywalker that will make you cry and 5 that will make you laugh.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

LAUGH - CHEWIE'S CHEATING

Star Wars Dejarik

In Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 playing the tabletop game Dejarik in what is one of the film's funniest scenes. In The Rise Of Skywalker, the game is introduced to similar hilarity.

Finn and Poe joke with Chewbacca about his cheating much to the Wookie's annoyance, and when Chewie needs to go help out front, he asks them not to turn off the game, they say they will not but when the big guy leaves Finn and Poe rather funnily agree he is cheating and switch off the game without a second thought.

CRY - C-3PO

C-3PO has his memory wiped in order to read ancient Sith language in Star Wars Rise Of Skywalker Cover

C-3PO may be the biggest surprise from The Rise Of Skywalker in of his involvement and the emotion he envokes, and do not be fooled he will make you cry. The first instance of this is in the line we see in the trailer "Taking one last look, sir. At my friends." This moment comes right before Threepio has his memory wiped, and while he does get it back, the moment is still emotional.

The second instance though, and the one that sticks, is when Threepio tells R2 "In the event I don't return, I want you to know you've been a real friend, R2. My best one in fact." Everyone knows the two are best of friends despite their bickering and have been a key part of the Skywalker saga, so this quote is a real tear-jerker for fans and truly wraps up their story.

LAUGH - ALSO C-3PO

In saying that though, Threepio also delivers brilliantly in the comedy department. There is no character in the film who exudes both laughter and emotion as much as Threepio.

Whether it be him pointing out irony, him going back to his factory settings and reintroducing himself, or him claiming Babu Frik to be his oldest friend or even the direct cut from Threepio telling Artoo he will never let him do that to him immediately doing that. Threepio has hilarious moments throughout the film and this may be Anthony Daniels' best performance yet.

CRY - HAN AND KYLO'S INTERACTION

Kylo Ren and Han Solo speak before Kylo kills him in The force Awakens

Han's return in The Rise Of Skywalker was one of the more shocking parts of the film and creates an emotional scene. When Rey impales then heals Kylo following Leia's death, Han appears in Kylo's mind as he is torn inside about what to do and Han leads him in his turn back to Ben Solo.

The scene is emotional and nostalgic and is probably the best route Lucasfilm could have taken within the preemptive confines of Kylo having to be redeemed. From Hans "I know" to his clasping his hand over Kylo's face, the scene was a perfect way to have Han back and turn Kylo back to Ben Solo.

LAUGH - REY AND POE'S ARGUING

Chewbacca, Poe, Finn, and Rey in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker

Rey and Poe have not had much time together on screen throughout the trilogy but when they interacted in this film, it was great. The first time they meet in this is an argument which is pretty hilarious with Rey wanting to know how Poe got the Falcon on fire and Poe wondering how BB-8 got damaged.

Another funny interaction is when the heroes are sucked under the sand and Poe lights a torch only for Rey to ignite her saber and makes Poe's light look pretty pathetic. The pair's interactions were some of the funniest parts of the film and they shine throughout.

CRY - LEIA'S DEATH

Star Wars Rise of Skywalker Leia With Lightsaber

The subject of Leia's fate in The Rise Of Skywalker was debated whether or not Leia would die here following the tragic loss of Carrie Fisher, and heartbreakingly she did. Leia used the last of her energy to call out to her son before ing on and reducing theatres upon theatres of people to tears.

Leia has been one of Star Wars' best and most iconic characters and her becoming one with the Force is a fitting end to the Princess' time in the saga. Any fan of the series will cry at her death and if that is not enough then Maz Kanata's line "Goodbye, dear Princess." is enough to set anyone off.

LAUGH - REY, POE, AND FINN

Finn Rey and Poe in Star Wars 9 The Rise of Skywalker

The Rise Of Skywalker marked the first time the three heroes of the trilogy shared screentime properly and it did not disappoint. The trio had good chemistry and produced some great and funny moments.

One moment, in particular, shines as the trio arrive on Kijimi and it is revealed Poe is a former spice runner, Finn then enquires "You were a spice runner?" for Poe to reply "You were a stormtrooper?" then Rey chimes in enquiring Poe's past as a spice runner for Poe to reply "You were a scavenger?" The exchange is quick, clever, and funny, the interactions of the three throughout are all good but this one, in particular, is a good laugh.

CRY - CHEWBACCA FINDING OUT LEIA HAS DIED

Chewbacca roars in Star Wars.

Chewbacca has been one of the best ing players throughout the whole of the Skywalker saga and his relationship with Han, in particular, has been beautiful. However, one thing that cannot be understated is his love for the other characters throughout the saga, namely Luke and Leia. By the time Rise of Skywalker comes he has heartbreakingly lost Han, then Luke, and now, Leia.

When Chewie, Finn, and Poe arrive back to base, they are informed of Leia's ing and this leads to Chewbacca letting out a powerful and painful roar of total emotion and total heartbreak that will leave fans in tears. Chewbacca deserves better than to have lost his closest friends and it is truly sad to see for any fan of the Wookie.

LAUGH - FINN AND POE

Finn Poe Cropped

More chemistry than Rey and Poe, and more funny moments than the trio, Finn, and Poe are the star pairing of the sequel trilogies trio heroes. Their chemistry is brilliant and through all three filmsthe pair is charming, witty and funny.

The pair argue and make digs at each other which are light-hearted and funny, clearly close friends, and when Poe asks Finn to be general with him it is both heartfelt with the fleeting nature of it getting laughs. The pair are talented actors with charisma and wit and when they are on screen together, they shine.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Zorri and Poe's interactions, Babu Frik.

CRY - BEN SOLO'S DEATH

Adam Driver as Kylo Ren Ben Solo in Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker

Perhaps not as established or as real as Leia's death mirroring that of Carrie Fisher's, Ben Solo's death is still impactful and emotional. After Palpatine is destroyed, Rey appears to be dying or has died. We then see Ben crawl out of the pit, and limp towards Rey's body before holding her, placing his hand on her stomach and heals her, but by doing this Ben uses the last of his life force and energy, and dies after his and Rey's kiss.

Ben becomes one with the Force at this moment and so too does Leia, whose body waited for Kylo. Ben redeemed himself and his mother kept faith in that, his journey was completed and while it would have been better to see Ben survive, his death was still emotional and enough to bring a fan to tears.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: The ending.
