Morgan, Gillies, Tonkin, Holt, and Russell reunited at the I Was Feeling Epic fan convention over the weekend. The event took place in Covington, Georgia, and the foursome gathered together for a photo that doubled as a callback to one of the more mundane moments that the Mikaelsons shared. It references the photo that Klaus (Morgan), Elijah (Gillies), Rebekah (Holt), and Hayley (Tonkin) took in The Originals season 2, episode 9, "The Map of Moments":

"I Was Feeling Epic" is a reference to The Vampire Diaries, calling back both to the name of the series finale and a quote from The CW hit. Although there is nothing actively in the works about bringing The Vampire Diaries back, Plec has repeatedly mentioned in interviews that she would be interested in bringing back the popular supernatural drama that also extends to include Legacies. That second spinoff ran from October 2018 to June 2022.

The Vampire Diaries might not have been such a long-running franchise if it had not known when to change things up and deliver big twists. Even though Stefan, Elena, and Damon are hugely significant, the Mikaelsons came along at exactly the right moment to change things up and alter the dynamic in a way that ultimately benefited the supernatural drama and allowed it to flourish. Years later, that strength is still visible through these fan experiences.
