While The Office is known for its funny moments, there is also romance involved and this has allowed for some great love quotes throughout the show's run. While Michael Scott (Steve Carell) and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) didn't have the best of luck in the romance department, they seem to gain a new perspective on love as they go through several relationships or watch their colleagues fall for each other. It also wasn't just Jim Halpert (John Krasinski) or Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) coming up with the most romantic quotes.

Whether it was because of Jim and Pam's fairy tale love story, Michael and Holly's finding each other, or Dwight and Angela's chaotic romance, viewers enjoyed seeing each character grow and learn new experiences together. It always delights viewers to see characters talk about their thoughts and feelings in their confessionals because they always come up with the most insightful and beautiful The Office love quotes. It helped the sitcom become known as a comfort show for tons of fans.

30 "And If You Don't Like It You Can Leave. And I Say The Same Thing To My Current Wife And I'll Say It To My Next One, Too."

Stanley Hudson, Season 4, Episode 12 - "Did I Stutter?"

Stanley looking bored in The Office

While there are a lot of characters on The Office who are surprisingly romantic, Stanley Hudson is not one of them. It is revealed later in the series that he was having an affair behind his wife's back, but he was far from the ideal husband before that happened. He is a stubborn man who is easily annoyed by others and doesn't try to hide his general disdain for the people around him.

He explains that he would tell his ex-wife "I don't apologize unless I think I'm wrong," while also suggesting she leave if she can't put up with that. Given that she is his ex-wife, it seems that she did decide to leave. However, Stanley didn't learn a lesson as he reveals he also says the same thing to his current wife. The fact that he is already thinking about the next wife suggests his current wife is also not a fan of that attitude and shows just how much Stanley values a healthy marriage.

29 "I Am A Catch, And I Won’t Be The One That Got Away."

Michael Scott, Season 4, Episode 14 - "Chair Model"

Steve Carell looking stern as Michael Scott in The Office

As easy as it is to understand why Michael is often single, it's hard not to feel sorry for him a lot of the time. He is someone who desperately wants to be loved and to have a romantic partner in his life. Unfortunately, he is not very good at dating. His lackluster efforts are often funny, but as much as there can be laughs found in the antics, there are times when his desperation becomes a little too sad.

At one point, Michael cannot hold back his loneliness and need for love anymore as he pleads with his employees to help set him up with someone. Michael can be arrogant at times, often without any justification, but seeing him refer to himself as a "catch" is a bit sad, as he can't seem to comprehend why he's having such a hard time finding someone. However, the added comment that he doesn't want eligible women to miss their chance to be with him is typical Michael Scott ridiculousness.

28 “Maybe We Weren't Right Together, But It's Weird. I'd Rather She Be Alone Than With Somebody. Is That Love?”

Ryan Howard, Season 8, Episode 21 - "Angry Andy"

Ryan declaring his love to Kelly on a horse in the parking lot in The Office

Of all the office romances on the show, Ryan and Kelly are the most toxic. Neither of them were particularly good people and together they made for an even worse couple. In the beginning, Kelly seemed like the needy one who was always pestering and annoying Ryan. However, as the series went on and the couple continued their on-again-off-again relationship, it was clear Ryan was even worse as a self-centered jerk who thought he was too good for Kelly but was also too insecure to let her go.

As became a common occurrence in their relationship, Ryan's love for Kelly grew more intense whenever she seemed to move on with someone else. In a hilarious display of Ryan's self-centeredness, he its that he isn't so interested in getting back together with Kelly, but rather doesn't want to see her with someone else. Not only does he not recognize how low this is, but he questions if that is what love feels like.

27 "The Two Levels Being, 'Welcome To Scranton' And 'I Love You.'"

Michael Scott, Season 4, Episode 18 - "Goodbye Toby"

Holly and Toby standing together in The Office Goodbye Toby episode

Michael Scott is a man who truly believes in love and wants it as part of his life. However, this can also cause him to fall in love a lot easier than most people, often moving things too fast and too early. One of the best examples of this is when Holly Fleck is introduced as the Scranton office's new HR representative. Given Michael's hatred of Toby, he is ready to hate her as well. However, she quickly sweeps him off his feet.

Michael later calls Jim into his office and asks for help in creating a mixtape for Holly. Michael sets up the ambitious purpose for the mixtape to offer a welcome to Holly as the newest member of the office, as well as let her know that Michael is in love with her. It is a perfect display of Michael's outlook on love that he doesn't seem to realize that it is unusual to be welcoming someone he just met and also declaring his love for them.

26 “It’s Like A Long Book That You Never Want To End."

Pam Beesley, Season 9, Episode 23 - "Finale"

Pam with her painting in The Office finale

The Office series finale came in season 9, episode 23, and it was, unsurprisingly, a sentimental sendoff for the beloved show. As such, it was a source of plenty of romantic quotes, with many words about love and friendship that capture the deep feelings the characters had for one another and, at a meta-level, audiences and the cast alike had for the show itself.

"And you’re fine with that because, you just never want to leave it."

"Finale" had an incredibly romantic plot as is, since one of the key focuses was the wedding of Dwight and Angela. However, it was also a flash-forward, with the cast of the in-universe documentary returning to shoot DVD extras, which led to a fair few memorable love quotes. One particularly poignant one came from Pam, who compared her romance with Jim to the Harry Potter books at a Q&A with fans of the fictional documentary.

25 "There Were A Lot Of Reasons To Call Off My Wedding. But The Truth Is, I Didn’t Care About Any Of Those Reasons Until I Met You.”

Pam Beesly, Season 3, Episode 23 - "Beach Games"

Pam gives a speech in front of everyone at Beach Games on The Office

"Beach Games" was the penultimate episode of The Office season 3, and as such several key plotlines came to a head, one of which being Pam's feelings for Jim and her frustration that he was now with someone else. While it wasn't a positive moment for Pam as a character, it still led to one of the The Office 's best quotes about romance, as she explained the depth of her feelings to Jim in a way that was hard for him to ignore.

While it would still take several episodes before Pam and Jim became an item, this moment is still one of the best The Office love quotes that stem from their story.

Aided by some liquid courage, Pam let Jim know that he was pretty much the sole reason she didn't marry Roy. She fully acknowledges there were plenty of valid reasons to call off the wedding, but if it wasn't for her feelings for Jim, she would have gone ahead and married a man who was wrong for her. While it would still take several episodes before Pam and Jim became an item, this moment is still one of the best in their love story.

24 “This Is Where I Fell In Love With You, And This Is Where I Ask You To Marry Me.”

Michael Scott, Season 7, Episode 18 - "Garage Sale"

Michael proposing to Holly surrounded by candles in The Office

Throughout most of The Office, Michael Scott shows that he's not the most adept when it comes to love, despite the fact that he believes otherwise. He stumbles through blunder after blunder with his various partners from Jan through to Carol, and even though Holly was The Office, he still had to overcome plenty of obstacles before they became an item — most of which he created for himself.

However, one thing Michael Scott did right in The Office was his proposal to Holly, which was so romantic there was no way the answer could be anything other than a resounding yes. This particularly romantic quote comes from Michael's proposal to Holly in season 7's "Garage Sale". Michael walked Holly through a tour of the Dunder Mifflin Scranton building, pointing out all the otherwise mundane areas that were incredibly significant to him due to moments in their relationship they represented, finishing with where he was going to propose, which he then promptly did.

23 “Your Wife Becoming, Me Will I.”

Holly Fleck, Season 7, Episode 18 - "Garage Sale"

Michael and Holly kiss while getting wet from the sprinklers in The Office

When Holly is introduced in The Office, it proves what fans long suspected would never be the case — that there is someone out there who is perfect for Michael. It is not only a sweet thing that Michael finally gets to find happiness, but also that he gets to be himself with someone who is as goofy and childish as he is.

The proposal scene between Michael and Holly is one of the most heartwarming moments of the series. Michael's speech in the breakroom is very endearing and oddly eloquent for him, while it is fitting that the entire office is there to witness the beautiful moment. However, the fact that Holly answers his proposal with a lame Yoda impression is a final moment of cementing just how perfect these two are for one another.

22 “This Expresses How Loudly I Love You!”

Dwight Schrute, Season 9, Episode 22 - "A.A.R.M."

Dwight yelling into a megaphone in The Office

This quote may seem a little odd, but that's because it comes from Dwight Schrute who, despite his eccentricities, understands how to woo the woman he loves (although this is because said woman, Angela, is just as strange as he is). Dwight yells his affection to Angela through a megaphone, which he promptly tells her is necessary to fully convey just how deeply he cares about her, implying that speaking at normal volume isn't enough.

This is a ring, taken from the buttocks of my grandmother, put there by the gangster patriarch of the Coors dynasty, melted in a foundry run by Mennonites.

This is followed by an incredibly sentimental moment in The Office too, as Dwight then promptly proposes to Angela after putting the megaphone down. However, the "aww" aspect doesn't detract from the hilarity of the show either, as Dwight proposes in true Schrute fashion by giving the engagement ring an incredibly bizarre backstory. Of course, since Angela and Dwight were made for each other, she says yes.

21 “Wow, You Love Me-Love Me. I Love You-Love You.”

Holly Flax, Season 7, Episode 16 - "PDA"

Holly and Michael kiss comically in The Office.

This romantic quote is another of several spawned from the relationship between Holly and Michael, although this one comes from Holly during a period when the office is trying to crack down on public displays of affection in the workplace. In the aptly-titled season 7 episode "PDA", Michael struggles with not being able to show his affection for Holly at work on Valentine's Day. These bottled-up emotions eventually spill over, and he professes that — despite the fact they've only been dating for a week — he loves her.

"I love-you-love-you" has since gone on to be a sentiment expressed to one another by many couples who share a ion for The Office.

Holly is taken aback but its that she reciprocates Michael's feelings. However, in a moment that shows just why Holly and Michael work so well as a couple, she expresses it in a cute, albeit strangely worded, way, and "I love you-love you" has since gone on to be a sentiment expressed to one another by many couples who share a ion for The Office.
