Having seemingly lived so many different lives, quite literally, as he has been known to be guilty of identity theft, Creed is a mystery wrapped up in an enigma. He is one of the most fascinating recurring characters, but as much of an enigma as he is, many of his one-liners have actually been rather revealing.

Though Creed might be one of the more eccentric characters in The Office, there were often a few occasions where times he provided the fans with some thought-provoking advice and knowledge. One could even argue that Creed could have been one of the more intelligent of the Scranton Branch. Fans just see him fly under the radar most of the time because of his personality.

He Has A Dream Outside Of The Office

When Michael was spreading around nasty rumors about everybody just to drown out the noise that one real rumor was making, he told Stanley that Creed had asthma. This worried Creed, as he claimed that if it got out then he wouldn’t be allowed to scuba dive.

Then, in one of the most oddly sincere deliveries ever, Creed asks, “If you can’t scuba, what has this all been about? What am I working toward?” It may sound random but it is a line that resonates deeply with the fans. It's good to have goals and ambitions as it can motivate a person to work harder in life.

Transferring Debt To William Charles Schneider

Creed Bratton in The Office – For entry Creed commits fraud

Identity theft is one of the many crimes that Creed definitely committed. Not only has he stole other people’s identities but he also created fake IDs for teenagers too. However, the best example of Creed’s identity theft came when he was explaining the best way for Michael to get around his debt.

Though he tells Michael to claim bankruptcy, he later says that what he does when he’s in debt is that he transfers it to William Charles Schneider, another he holds. He its that he has been doing it for years and hadn't been caught since. While Michael made the wise decision not to go down a similar path, it does seem to suggest that he is more intelligent than he makes himself out to be.

Knowing The Security Guard’s Name

When Jim inadvertently locks all of the employees in the office after working late, he has no choice but to call the security guard to travel over with the spare keys. The problem is, nobody knows the security guard’s name.

Every employee has their own idea, but they are all way off. However, Creed spoke up and said, “I think his name is Hank.” Because Creed is such a wildcard, nobody thought to actually listen to him but he was right on the money when everyone else was completely wrong.

Skipped Work

Creed in The Office

How he even got a job at Dunder Mifflin is one of the questions fans will forever have about Creed as he has proved to be inadequate at his job (at one point he even forgot what his role at the company was). It’s clear that Creed just simply couldn’t care less about his job, especially as he was caught skipping work in “Work Bus.”

To be fair to Creed, the office is known for putting its workers in stressful and uncomfortable positions. As every fan knows, a lot of shenanigans take place almost every day. It's even surprising if they get any work done so fans can't really blame Creed for wanting to skip work. Anyone would too if this is the environment they had to cope in every day.

Understanding Pirate Code

Creed caught living in The Office in the series finale

Dwight might think that he is prepared for anything, as he has copious amounts of weapons hidden around the office, but Creed would be able to survive in any situation given how many times he has shown what kind of a skill-set he has.

Not only has he managed to evade the law for years, but Creed was the only one to understand pirate code when Dwight spoke it, even if he can’t speak it himself. And there are other times where is learning about new methods of survival, which are the only times he ever pays attention, as his behavior in the self defence class is one of the Creed moments that gets ignored.

Oozing Things

Creed In The Office

Though it’s just a throwaway one liner, it’s completely true and a thought that probably nobody has ever had before. It also screams Creed Bratton. In a seminar-like way, Creed asks the floor if anybody has noticed that people can only ooze two things, which is sexuality and puss. It’s possibly the most disgusting thought anyone has ever had, but it makes complete sense, and nobody in the office chimes in with anything else.

Second Hand Gifting

We are all guilty of second hand gifting, as employees buy coworkers gifts with very little knowledge about what they actually like all too often. Secret Santa is an office tradition that most workers would rather put an end to, including Creed.

When the employees were roped in to secret Santa yet again, Creed completely forgot about it and handed Jim an old shirt in a plastic bag. Ironically, Ryan would probably have loved this gift, as an old-man’s checkered shirt is exactly the kind of hipster attire he loved.

Taking The Initiative To Calm A Situation

In “Viewing Party” an episode entirely dedicated to the co-workers watching Glee even though half of them couldn’t care less, a whole bunch of the employees were in disarray when Jim changed the channel to briefly watch sports. There was a ton of screaming, predominantly from Kelly.

Despite having very little knowledge of modern day technology, Creed was the only one to take it upon himself to look it up to find out what happened. Out of all the to step up and calm the situation, no one expected it to be Creed.

Suspects The Branch Is Pushing Out Old

There are loads of WTF Creed moments, but when Ryan becomes a Vice President of Sales at Dunder Mifflin, the oldest member of the office makes more sense than he ever has. As Ryan attempts to make the switch from salesmen to an online system, it’s one of the rare moments in which Creed is totally clued up on what’s going on and knows he will be left in the dust if he doesn’t conform to the younger, more “start-up” approach Ryan has.

Creed then informs Michael that as he’s one of the oldest in the office, he could be in the danger zone too. While Michael tries asking Jan about it, she pretty much confirms that the company has tried to push the older out years ago. Who would have thought Creed would be the one to spot this first...
