The Office brought us so many iconic moments. We saw Michael break the news to Scott's Tots that he wasn't a millionaire; we saw Dwight kill Angela's cat Sprinkles; we saw every inch of Meredith on Casual Friday. Out of 201 episodes, there are too many amazing memories to choose from.
However, some of the best memories that The Office fans can't get enough of are the ones involving our favorite Dunder Mifflin couples. Jim and Pam's love story was a long time in the making and we all knew Michael and Holly had something special, she just had to see it on her own. Then there was Angela and Dwight, Erin and Andy, Kelly and Ryan... But what about the "could have been" couples. After all, with so many lovable and funny characters in Scranton, there had to have been more love to go around, right? Here are 10 couples that never happened on The Office but totally could have.
MICHAEL & ERIN
We know what you're thinking. Michael has always been a sort of father-figure to Erin. As a woman who outgrew the foster system, Erin has always longed for a family; she always wants to belong. However, if we didn't know about Erin's view of Michael as a father, these two wouldn't be the worst couple at Dunder Mifflin Scranton.
They both love kids, they're both spontaneous, and they don't have a mean bone in their bodies. Similar to Modern Family's Phil Dunphy, Michael always has these wild ideas and just runs with it. Erin's the kind of woman who would encourage that unconstrained feeling.
MEREDITH & CREED
Merideth and Creed are some of the only characters in The Office that never had a love connection with anyone. We never knew Creed's relationship status and we knew Mereideth wasn't with her son's father, so why not give these two a try?
Their desks are near each other, they're both weird beyond belief, and they both like rock music. Between her drinking and him not knowing what he does at Dunder Mifflin, this would be a very real relationship. We're not saying it would be longlasting, though. This is one relationship that would last a month before fizzling out.
KELLY & GABE
Who are two people in the office who love to love but always seem to find themselves alone? Kelly and Gabe. Gabe became obsessed with Erin after dating her for a couple of months and Kelly became a stalker over Ryan (who she was on-and-off with for years).
Gabe (besides being very tall) is just as pale as Ryan and he's constantly back and forth between Scranton and Florida, didn't Kelly say she's always wanted to move to Miami? This could have been a good relationship if they both weren't so obsessed with their exes.
ROY & KAREN
Roy and Karen would have been the ultimate rebound relationship. It wouldn't have been serious but it would have lasted a couple of weeks. They'd bond over their breakups, celebrate moving on with each other, and probably cry over all the times they thought Jim and Pam cheated on them. Karen, of course, would see that she has better prospects out there than Roy but a few weeks together could have gotten them through the dark times.
Just think of the looks on Jim and Pam's faces when they hear the news about their exes getting together!
ERIN & CHARLES
If Charles was going to start dating anyone at Scranton, it was Erin. With every woman throwing themselves at him, the only one he semi-flirted with was her. Kelly and Angela came running into his office every other minute to shower him with compliments while Erin was the new girl — just like him.
We didn't know Erin all that well in the beginning when Charles was there but the two of them could have worked out. He's protective and authoritative, just like Erin likes, and we're not sure what Charles is into but it's apparently Erin.
ROBERT & NELLIE
Robert California and Nellie Bertram totally could have worked as a couple. They seem to really hit it off in Florida and the tension between them was still there when she transferred to Scranton. While many people are speechless around Robert (due to the intellectual properties of his brain), he's actually speechless around Nellie. She's the one woman who puts him in his place because he's scared of her. when she simply took the management position because Andy called out sick that day? Robert didn't even have the willpower to say no to her.
We know Robert was married when he met Nellie but once they divorced, he could have finally acted on his feelings.
ROY & KATY
Is it just us or did Roy and Katy have more sparks than Roy and Pam and Jim and Katy combined? These two definitely hit it off on the booze cruise even though they were with their respective dates. They talked about going to rival high schools and ing each other from football games — the nostalgia was all there!
In fact, instead of Roy marrying that random woman, writers should have had him reconnect with Katy! It's not like Jim was all that attached to her anyway.
DANNY CORDRAY & KELLY
Kelly loves someone tall, dark, and handsome who has their ducks in a row, and that's salesman Danny Cordray. Danny made a small appearance on The Office but it was long-lasting due to his former relationship with Pam. Not to mention how Michel got him to work for him in the first place (Merideth almost assaulted him).
Sometimes it's hard to picture Kelly with anyone but Ryan, but we could totally see these two working out — especially if Danny thought the office was as crazy as Kelly did.
RAVI & PAM
The only reason Ravi and Kelly started dating was thanks to Pam and Jim. Ravi was their kids' pediatrician and asked Jim and Pam if they knew any single girls who would be interested in dating him.
However, if circumstances were different and Ravi never dated Kelly, Pam wasn't with Jim, and Pam didn't have kids with Jim — these two would have been cute. Pam spoke great things about Ravi to the camera and to Kelly, so it's clear she thought the world of him already. And Ravi is gorgeous and tall — just like Jim! The only issue is Ravi took a job in Ohio and we all know how much Pam loves Scranton, so maybe these two wouldn't have worked out.
