Sony has revealed a new, special-edition DualSense controller for the an acclaimed (if highly divisive) sequel, as well as a TV adaptation that's brought its story to a wider audience than ever before.

Officially revealed today on the PlayStation Blog, The Last of Us DualSense controller will be available for pre-order starting on March 14, 2025. Featuring a black-and-white design, the controller includes several iconic images from throughout the games in glossy prints across the darker parts of the controller's face: skulls, ammo boxes, knives, fishing hooks, and more. Printed on each of the controller's grips are a moth and a wolf, representing Ellie and Abby in The Last of Us Part 2, while the touchpad bears the Fireflies' insignia.

A Big Moment For TLOU & PS5

Two Major Releases Coming Soon

The new TLOU DualSense controller's release coincides with the launch of The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PC. It'll be available on both Steam and the Epic Games Store beginning on April 3, 2025. It's also trending pretty close to the release of the second season of TLOU's TV adaptation, which hits HBO and Max on April 13.

The reveal of this controller also follows series creator Neil Druckmann's announcement that there may not be a TLOU Part 3. Druckmann doesn't totally count out the idea of a sequel, but says it's unlikely to happen. Frankly, it seems like the story was finished with the previous game, and both Druckmann and Naughty Dog are eyeing their next projects after the TV series is completed. Still, that doesn't mean TLOU has nothing to celebrate.

It's a nice little collectible for fans of the series, whether they're diehard PlayStation fans or would prefer to use the new DualSense to play the sequel on PC. Whatever the case, it couldn't have come at a better time to celebrate the legacy of The Last of Us and PlayStation's vast library of games as a whole.
