Arrowverse actor Patrick Sabongui looks back on his The Flash season 1, where he hired Grant Gustin's Barry Allen at the CD. Singh soon became a close friend of Barry Allen's and an ally to Team Flash, as well as Joe West's boss. He also came face to face with villains such as Cicada and Zoom, and he survived events such as the Enlightenment and the Metapocalypse.
In an interview with Bleeding Cool, Patrick Sabongui recalled his favorite moment filming The Flash. Sabongui mentions the episode where Liam McIntyre's Mark Mardon a.k.a. Weather Wizard attacks Joe West with a bolt of lightning and David Singh jumps in front of Joe to save him. Sabongui describes this scene as "one of (his) fondest memories)" due to David Singh and Joe West's close friendship, as well as the real-life friendship between both actors and the physical challenge of performing his own stunts. Read Patrick Sabongui's full comments below:
"Like, this happened earlier on in (season two of) the series, but there was an episode where we were fighting the Weather Wizard, and he came to CD, and he grabbed lightning out of the sky and blasting everybody in the cop shop. Joe West, played by Jesse L. Martin was in the line of fire and I, as David Singh, dove in front and pushed Joe West out of the way and took the blast of lightning trying to save Joe's life."
"That was one of the fondest memories, story-wise, of the friendship and the relationship between Joe West and David Singh, but also for me. Jesse L Martin and I are close, and that was a fun day – and I got to do a little bit of stunts. I got like ratcheted on cable across the set and smashed into some filing cabinets. It was just a fun day, a cool storyline, and a great moment with a great friend on set. I'm gonna miss those days."
What Patrick Sabongui's David Singh Comments Mean For The Flash
The Flash Is The Epitome Of DC's Network Show Extravaganza
Patrick Sabongui's fond memories of The Flash's action scenes encapsulate the golden era of DC's network era. The CW's Arrowverse shows had a smaller budget and shorter deadlines than limited series like The Penguin and Peacemaker, as well as a much larger number of seasons and episodes. As a result, network DC shows like The Flash provided longer screentime for secondary characters like Patrick Sabongui's David Singh and Jesse L. Martin's Joe West, who could develop their friendship over many episodes.

After Grant Gustin's Recent Comments About Returning As The Flash, I'm Convinced James Gunn's DC Universe Could Make It Happen
Grant Gustin delivered easily the best version of The Flash to date, but he needs to get a chance to put that version on the big screen in the DCU.
David Singh's encounters with supervillains in The Flash must have been exciting for Patrick Sabongui in particular, as Sabongui is a professional stunt performer. Besides his role in The Flash, Sabongui has appeared as a stunt performer in movies like The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, The Bourne Legacy, and X-Men: Days of Future Past. Performing a fun stunt alongside a dear friend in one of the Arrowverse's most popular shows is certainly a moment to .
Our Take On Patrick Sabongui's The Flash Comments
The DCU Might Not Replicate The Flash, But Patrick Sabongui Could Play Another DC Role
With The CW's DC era officially over, the DCU's Gods and Monsters chapter is launching a new era of DC shows that differ greatly from the Arrowverse's in format, length, and storytelling. The DCU's series promise to be much shorter and self-contained. But while the golden days of The Flash are gone, Patrick Sabongui could still return to DC's small screen in a new role, whether as a stunt performer, an actor, or both.
