Wes Bergmann is back for another season of The Challenge and this time he's competing against the "best guys" in All-Stars Season 3. With two past wins under his belt, Wes is coming ready to add a third to his resume. But as an OG on the franchise, All-Stars pits Wes against many of his longtime friends. The new season will be Wes' first time ing the new spin-off and competing against people he used to date.
Wes is among the fan favorites on The Challenge after competing on the show for over 15 years. He ed the show after making his MTV inception on The Real World: Austin in 2005. Wes has taken home over $300,000 from his past wins on The Duel and Rivals II, and competing as a finalist on Fresh Meat, Rivals, Champs vs. Pros, Champs vs. Stars 2, and War of the Worlds. He's known for using alliances to make it to the end and has infamous feuds with the likes of Johnny Bananas and Jordan Wisely. As Wes prepares to compete against fellow OGs, he'll need a new strategy for the seasoned cast.
Wes wasn't expecting the new season to give him too much of a challenge considering his experience competing against the rookies. But he had no idea which of the OGs would also be ing him on season 3. "I signed up to go on a vacation, and then when I showed up it was all the best guys that had ever been on the ," Wes told People. He described the experience as "a bait and switch" situation where the competition was too stiff for him to secure an easy win. After competing on All-Stars, Wes believes he has "an easier chance of just waiting until [The Challenge season] 38 and winning it than I do of winning All Stars." That's a major statement from someone who's considered one of the best to play the game.
The OG believes the new cast is "very intimidating" compared to the rookies he's been competing against in recent years. All-Stars Season 3 cast includes Brad Fiorenza, Derrick Kosinski, Mark Long, Jonna Mannion, Veronica Portillo, Darrell Taylor and Jordan Wiseley. Wes says the odds were against him, with much of the cast not wanting him there. Despite thinking he had a "squad" with Nehemiah Clark, Melinda Collins and Veronica, Wes quickly learned that he had a target on his back. "If I knew on paper exactly how badly the mass majority of that cast didn't want me there, I would have never come," Wes said. Wes has gotten used to being targeted during the rookie seasons and thought he would get a chance to make it far in the game playing against his friends.
But from his hints, Wes could've been ousted from the competition early on. The Challenge: All-Stars gives a chance for the veterans of the franchise to come back for redemption. As a more seasoned cast, viewers get a chance to catch up on some of their favorites from yesteryear. The veterans also get to show that age is nothing but a number and the young rookies aren't the only ones who can compete. Wes will have to try another strategy next time around.
