Eric Kripke Addresses The Boys Going Past Season 5 By Comparing It To Supernatural's 15 Seasons

Summary

  • M.M. steps up as the new team captain in The Boys season 4, enforcing five new rules with authority and humor in a new video.
  • Butcher's leadership is challenged as M.M. takes charge, bringing wisdom and composure to the team dynamic instead of the chaos and lack of communication Butcher brings.
  • The Boys season 4 seems to be setting up a power struggle between M.M. and Butcher, setting the stage for tension and conflict.

The Boys' new team captain, Marvin T. "Mother's" Milk (a.k.a. M.M.), is laying down some ground rules for the titular group in a fun season 4 video. After initially being founded and led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), his lies, secrets, and selfish choices have frequently put a strain on the team. His decision to work with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and lie about the effects of V24 was the last straw, leading his boys to turn to a new capable leader in the form of M.M.

In a new video from The Boys' official Twitter , M.M. appeared to be embracing his role as team captain in The Boys season 4.

The video highlights M.M.'s meticulous organization skills as he unveils five new rules for the team pertaining to Post-It notes, petty cash requests, file keeping, checking out weapons, and desk cleanliness. Although his rules sound a little humorous, he is clearly asserting his authority as he concludes, "Five simple rules. Easy. And if you don't like it, you can eat my d--k." M.M. also specifically calls Butcher out, highlighting the new change in leadership.

What M.M.’s Leadership Means for The Boys Season 4

The Boys season 4 video teases the shakeup the vigilante group will experience heading into the new episodes. Butcher, after losing his stepson and facing the terminal effects of V24, has now also lost his team, with M.M. taking over as leader. The choice is understandable, considering M.M. has always been a natural-born leader, with his wisdom, loyalty, and ability to keep his composure. Despite also having a reason to hate the Supes that destroyed his family, he never lets his personal vendetta get in the way of the team's well-being, as Butcher is notorious for doing.

In the trailer for The Boys season 4, Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid) describes wanting to turn over a new leaf with the team. Fed up with the violence, he suggests the team start acting a little more human, and with M.M. in charge, wishes like Hughie's may actually carry some weight. However, the leadership change could also be problematic by resulting in a power struggle between M.M. and Butcher. Butcher is still in the picture and presents the team with an unhinged plot to infect all Supes with a deadly virus.

Every Supe Confirmed For The Boys Season 4 So Far

The Boys season 4 is shaping up to be the most action-packed yet, with a wide variety of new and old supes to fill out the story and change the world.

Although he is taking over the boys, it's unclear if M.M. can convince them to choose his way of doing things rather than Butcher's. The Boys' season 3 ending also left M.M. and Butcher in quite a tough place, with the former appearing ready to give up on his friend after so many betrayals and disappointments. It's possible that instead of making amends, the tension between the two could rise further as they grapple for the boys' allegiance. Ultimately, it will be interesting to see how The Boys' titular team functions under M.M.'s leadership.

The Boys season 4 premieres on Prime Video on June 13.
