Hulu's wildly popular culinary drama series The Bear has already impressed in its first two seasons, and here's everything to know about its season 3. Debuting in 2022 to rave reviews, the show follows a young and accomplished chef who returns home to Chicago to take care of his family's struggling restaurant. Offering a compelling mixture of comedy and drama, The Bear puts the fast-paced world of kitchens on screen and delivers the same breakneck speed as the culinary world. Intricately tied to the experience of restaurant culture, The Bear is simultaneously a love letter to the kitchen lifestyle and a harsh expose of the same.

The success carried over into the realm of awards too, as The Bear nabbed several Golden Globe Awards. Although most of the praise went to the cast of The Bear for their powerhouse performances, the razor-sharp writing and strong direction of the series was a winning recipe. With the breathtaking conclusion of The Bear season 2, a third season is an absolute necessity.

The Hollywood strikes of 2023 put a damper on production for most of the year, and The Bear was not immune. However, it was announced that production was scheduled to resume in January 2024, though no indication came that cameras started rolling. Despite no confirmation of physical production, a release window of June 2024 was provided for season 3, before FX finally narrowed it down to June 26, 2024. All 10 episodes of The Bear seson 3 will be available to stream instantly at 9 pm on Hulu.

The Hollywood strikes consisted of the WGA strike (May-September 2023) and the SAG-AFTRA strike (July-November 2023), which saw writers and actors strike for better pay and fair working conditions.

The Bear Season 3 Cast

Carmy & The Rest Of The Crew Will Return

The regular cast of The Bear has been one of the most appealing parts of the series through its first two seasons, and a mass return of the ensemble is to be expected considering the direction that the group is going in during season 2. First and foremost, Jeremy Allen White will be back in the lead role as the troubled but brilliant chef Carmine "Carmy" Berzatto. Additionally, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Richard "Richie" Jerimovich will also return to continue to vex his "cousin" Carmy, along with Ayo Edebiri as Sydney.

The second season was chock-full of cameos, and there's no reason to think that the trend won't continue in the third. Though the nature of his return hasn't been made clear yet, season 2 actor Will Poulter was seen on set, presumably as pastry chef Luca, and his return might indicate that others are also coming back.

Though The Bear season 2 was a critical darling, it moved away from the typical fast-paced kitchen environment that made the first so appealing

While nothing has been announced yet regarding the story, the finale of season 2 gave big hints as to what the episodes could be about. Although the restaurant successfully opened, Carmy's confession to Claire about him putting his personal life above his professional one while he was trapped in the freezer will have to be addressed in the new season. In fact, star Jeremy Allen White addressed the couple's future, saying "I think she deserves an apology, at the very least".

One thing that is known about the third season is that it will be more of a return to the structure seen in season 1. Though The Bear season 2 was a critical darling, it moved away from the typical fast-paced kitchen environment that made the first so appealing. The Bear season 3 returning to its roots is a promidate since the first season did such an excellent job of balancing its character development with the explosive and pulse-pounding kitchen moments that had fans on the edge of their seats.

Catch The Trailers Below

Jeremy Allen White as Carmy in The Bear season 3 teaser

A short teaser was dropped in May 2024 that not only hyped up the newest season but also revealed the release date. The teaser, which was shared on Instagram, shows Jeremy Allan White's Carmy entering the kitchen of The Bear at 3 am and set out his knives. He then looks intensely at the camera before it zooms out of the restaurant and over the Chicago skyline.

Just weeks after the first teaser was dropped, a longer trailer for The Bear season premiered and delivered on the promise of more kitchen drama. With The Bear up and running with customers, the teaser shows Sydney, Carmy, Ritchie, and all the rest of the crew struggling to hold things down as the typical trials and tribulations of the restaurant business plague them.

After a series of teasers were dropped, a full trailer arrived in late May 2024 and finally showed off some of the interesting story details for season 3. After a few flashbacks showing Carmy working under the demeaning gaze of Joel McHale's tyrannical chef in New York and a sweet moment with his dearly departed cousin, things switch back to a restaurant in turmoil. Carmy lays out his rules for the staff which rubs Richie and Sydney the wrong way, and it's up to Fak to apologize to Claire for Carmy's outburst at the end of season 2. As promised, The Bear season 3 is a pressure cooker that will likely top the previous outings in of suspense.
