The rumor that Dick Grayson, the original Robin, and Batman villains Clayface, Hush, Professor Pyg, and Scarecrow are in The Batman - Part II is "Totally made up," according to Gunn. The Batman featured multiple classic DC Comics characters, which means that the DC Elseworlds movie should do the same, even if the characters mentioned in the rumor might not show up in The Batman - Part II.

Which DC Characters Could Appear In The Batman - Part 2?

Batman, Catwoman, the Penguin, and the Riddler from The Batman (2022)

Like the first film set in Matt Reeves' Gotham City, The Batman - Part II should feature another expansive cast that introduces exciting DC Comics characters to the franchise. Given that the new DC Universe will have its on version of the Dark Knight, which will debut in The Brave and the Bold movie alongside the Damian Wayne Robin, The Batman - Part II is unlikely to feature a version of the Boy Wonder. Besides, a kid fighting crime in vibrant colors would not be a great fit for the tone of The Batman universe.

While Robin is unlikely to be in the film, and Gunn has debunked the appearance of multiple villains, there are still some great Batman characters that could play a role in the sequel. The Batman - Part II could directly address the flood that took over Gotham in The Batman. Instead of skipping over the city's recovery from Riddler's actions, The Batman - Part II taking place in a flooded Gotham City would open the door to villains such as Killer Croc and Mr. Freeze.

Besides new additions to the franchise, The Batman - Part II should also feature many returning characters. Robert Pattinson's second adventure as the Caped Crusader should see the returns of Catwoman, Penguin, Alfred, Jim Gordon, and more. Recently, Barry Keoghan also teased his return as the Joker in The Batman - Part II, with the Clown Prince of Crime having last been seen befriending the Riddler at Arkham Asylum, possibly setting up The Batman - Part II's story.

The Batman - Part II releases on October 3, 2025.
