all good things must come to an end. The game’s final series of updates has arrived and is called Journey’s End. The creators have released some additional bug fixes, balance tweaks, and such in version 1.4.1, which released recently.
One of the things the update did was add new achievements. It adds some new longevity, as players who have already managed to get 100% of the achievements will need to return to get 100% again. One of the achievements is titled “Boots of the Hero.” It tasks players with obtaining the Terraspark Boots. Getting these boots can be quite a lengthy process, so here is how to get them.
Obtaining the Terraspark Boots in Terraria
One nice thing about the Terraspark Boots is that they are a powerful item that can be crafted pre-hardmode. To craft them, players first need a Tinkerer’s Workshop, which is purchased from the Goblin Tinkerer. They might as well purchase the Rocket Boots, as those will be needed too. The Terraspark Boots are the result of a large upgrade tree, so players need to get many different items beforehand. Luckily, there is some flexibility in the items required.
The Terraspark Boots were added in the 1.4 update, and it combines the ability of two previous high-end boots: the Frostspark Boots and the Lava Waders.
To make the Frostspark Boots, players need one of the following:
- Hermes Boots: obtained from Gold Chests found underground.
- Flurry Boots: found in the Snow Biome in Frozen Chests, Frozen Crates, and Boreal Crates (if playing in hardmode).
- Sailfish Boots: found by fishing up Wooden and Iron Crates.
- Dunerider Boots: found in Sandstone Chests in the Underground Desert, and Oasis Crates found in the Oasis Biome.
Once the player has one of these, they will combine them with Rocket Boots in the Tinkerer’s Workshop to make Spectre Boots. Now the player will need to get an Aglet, which can be found in regular chests or crates, and an Anklet of the Wind, which can be found in chests and crates in the Underground Jungle.
Combining these three items yields the Lightning Boots. Now players just need to find Ice Skates from chests and crates in the Snow Biome, combine those in the Tinkerer’s Workshop, and finally, the player has the Frostspark Boots. Halfway done!
For crafting the Lava Waders, the player needs 20 Obsidian, which occurs when water and lava collide. Putting it into a furnace gives the player an Obsidian Skull. Combine with a Lava Charm, which is found in Golden Chests or fished up in Obsidian Crates from lava, and the player gets a Molten Charm.
Needed next is an Obsidian Rose, which is obtained by slaying Fire Imps in the Underworld. Then the player needs Water Walking Boots, which are obtained from Water Chests, Ocean Crates, or Seaside Crates, all found in the Ocean Biome.
Combining all these items nets players the Lava Waders! There is an alternate solution too. Players can combine the Obsidian Skull and Water Walking Boots to make Obsidian Water Walking Boots (which has its own benefits). Then it can be combined with the Obsidian Rose and a Lava Charm (or a Molten Charm) and it still makes the Lava Waders.
Now, the final step is to combine the Frostsprark Boots with the Lava Waders, and at long last players will get the Terraspark Boots.
The Terraspark Boots do have some nice abilities, combining the abilities of all the previous items into one. They increase the player’s base speed, allow players to walk on the surface of all liquids, including lava and without taking damage. Players can also submerge in lava without taking damage for seven seconds. Landing on the surface of a liquid from a great height will not incur fall damage. Yes, indeed it might be worth the hassle.
Terraria is available now on PC, MacOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Android, and iOS.
