Warning: Contains SPOILERS for The Terminator #6! Throughout one particular Terminator model, the T-600, I have to it something: humanity never stood a chance.

In the solicitation for Dynamite Entertainment’s The Terminator #6 by Declan Shalvey and Lorenzo Re, fans are given a first-look at the main and variant covers for the issue (by artists Declan Shalvey, Cat Staggs, and David Cousens) as well as the official synopsis.

As the first generation of human-mimicking Infiltrators deployed by Skynet against the Resistance, the T-600s displayed all of the problems that come from rushing a prototype into production. Covered in unconvincing rubber skin and lacking any organic components, they were easily detected and destroyed.

But if there's one thing that Skynet is good at, it's learning from its mistakes. And as the historic tales in this pivotal issue demonstrate, every T-600's mission — no matter the outcome — brought the lethal T-800s one step closer to activation!

As the covers and synopsis confirm, this Terminator issue will focus on the T-600 model Terminator. While fans have been hearing the name ‘T-600’ for quite some time, they’ve never really seen one in action before. Sure, there were a couple T-600s in Terminator: Salvation, but those appearances didn’t quite capture the true horror of this model, nor did they capture its deadliness. Now, The Terminator franchise will remedy that in truly epic fashion with an all-new story that will prove that the T-600 model Terminators are not only deadlier than fans think, but also way scarier - and, honestly, I’m terrified just thinking about it.

Terminator’s T-600 is Deadlier Than Fans Think

T-600s are Famously Unconvincing, but They’d Still Do the Job

A T-600 Terminator walking through the wasteland from Terminator: Salvation.

The main reason why the T-600 isn’t featured very often in The Terminator is that they are famously unconvincing. They’re the first models to impersonate humans, but rather than the hyper-realistic human skin and organs of the T-800, the T-600 uses rubber skin wrapped around a bulky robotic endoskeleton. Up close, the T-600 is easy to spot, meaning that model wasn’t ideal for its intended purpose of infiltrating the human resistance. However, just because the T-800 Terminator is better doesn’t mean the T-600 is useless.

Truth be told, a T-600 would be convincing enough to get close enough to kill someone, as they only look fake when someone looks at them up close. I’m confident that if a T-600 approached me in the post-apocalyptic wasteland, I wouldn’t be able to tell it wasn’t human until it got close enough to kill me (especially at night). While the T-600 definitely can’t do long-term infiltration missions for Skynet, it certainly looks human enough to get closer to its target than the fully robotic android Terminators.

Not only that, but the T-600 is literally the worst a ‘human Terminator’ has ever looked, and it’s still convincing enough to get close to its target without them immediately recognizing it as a Terminator. In other words, even at its worst, Skynet is still insanely deadly, meaning it’s fair to say that Skynet could kill us all in an instant. Plus, the T-600 has a secondary objective to murdering its targets that make it even deadlier - which is something this comic series is about to dive head-first into with The Terminator #6.

The T-800 Terminator is Only as Deadly as It Is Because of the T-600

Every T-600 Failure was Corrected with the T-800

Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 Terminator with one glowing red eye.

As the solicitation for The Terminator #6 explains, the T-600 Terminators secretly record every mission they’re sent on by Skynet, and Skynet uses the information it gathers to make future models even deadlier. That means, even in failure, the T-600 proves to be a massive success for Skynet, as every bit of information it gathers is fed directly to the source, which corrects those mistakes and ensures they never happen again. That’s why Terminators get more advanced with every ing model, as Skynet is actively learning how to create the ultimate killing machine.

But, aside from how the T-600 makes the T-800 better, the model totally stands on its own as one that’s not only deadly, but utterly terrifying. The T-600 adds an uncanny valley level of horror to The Terminator franchise, as it is something that looks almost human, but isn’t. It’s as if those targeted by T-600 Terminators are being hunted by robotic skinwalkers. And even if they get away, the information the T-600 gathered about its failure only ensures Skynet will come back stronger and deadlier than before.

Skynet's Ultimate Terminator Is Closer to Alien's Xenomorphs Than Arnie's T-800

Arnold Schwarzenegger's T-800 was the first Terminator, but interestingly enough, the franchise's deadliest Terminator is more like Alien's Xenomorph.

The T-600 Terminators may get a bad rap in The Terminator franchise, but they really are incredibly deadly and terrifying. Personally, I know I’d get killed by one, even if I did notice that it didn’t look quite human right before it pulled the trigger, and I feel like I’m not alone here - especially when considering the T-600 literally paved the way for the T-800, T-1000, and T-X, which are models that almost no one would survive. In short, after seeing Terminator’s T-600 being featured in this comic, I’ll it it: Skynet could kill us all in an instant.
