Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison has insisted he will pay a visit to the folks at Boba Fett in The Mandalorian season 3, especially given the show's intense focus on Mandalorian culture as a whole. Yet, the infamous bounty hunter was relegated to a minor mention in an early episode after his role was cut.
However, Temuera Morrison has recently appeared on the Whatnot UK live podcast (via Bounty_Helmets), where he was recorded stating that he will pay a visit to Lucasfilm to discuss what is next for his character. When asked about a potential return to Star Wars, Morrison replied:
"There's a few things happening in L.A... I'm looking to pop into L.A. on the way home to New Zealand... and see what's happening in the galaxy... This is why I was gonna pop in and see what's going on, and make sure they're not gonna put me on a shelf."
These comments come as a relief to many who are fans of Morrison's work in Star Wars. While The Book of Boba Fett did not receive an overwhelmingly positive reception from fans and critics alike, there is no denying that Morrison's portrayal of the character and dedication to the franchise for decades has been beyond irable. As such, hopefully, Morrison's visit to Los Angeles bears fruit, and more details are revealed about Morrison's return to the franchise.
What Role Does Boba Fett Have In The Mandoverse Going Forward?
Another interesting note about Morrison's appearance on the podcast was a discussion of where his character could appear next. The comments above from Morrison came after he was questioned about The Book of Boba Fett season 2, meaning there is potential for a continuation of the bounty hunters story now that he is the Daimyo of Mos Espa. However, moving away from Boba Fett, Morrison made some interesting comments about a certain Captain Rex, the clone captain made popular by Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
While Rex has never appeared in live-action, the mention of the name prompted this response from Morrison: "I'd actually love to bring Captain Rex alive." This comes just weeks before the premiere of the Ahsoka show. A widely held fan theory is that Rex is one of the few Clone Wars characters that Ahsoka should feature, something Morrison is clearly up for based on these comments. Be it a return as Rex in Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett season 2, or Dave Filoni's Mandalorian movie, there are plenty of opportunities for Morrison to return to Star Wars that the franchise would be misguided not to take.
