Tekken 8 is set to release in early 2024, and there are a number of options available for pre-ordering the game. Following on the heels of Street Fighter 6 and the Mortal Kombat 1 release, Tekken 8 marks the return of another major fighting game franchise and its first installment released for the current generation. Pre-orders of Tekken 8 will be available to play on January 26, 2024, as will bonuses included in the various editions of the game on digital storefronts.
While Mortal Kombat 1 reboots the story of its franchise following an opportunity created at the end of Mortal Kombat 11, Tekken 8 will be a more traditional sequel to Tekken 7. The plot of the Tekken series has always centered around the Mishima family, a lineage of fighters with a unique karate style and power imbued in their blood. Tekken 8 is poised to deliver a climax in this saga, picking up where Tekken 7 left off in a war between Kazuya Mishima and his son Jin Kazama. Jin's mother Jun also returns in the newest entry after a long absence from the series.

The pre-order bonuses for Tekken 8 are perhaps the simplest aspect of the various options for purchasing the game. One bonus is universal, as pre-ordering any edition of the title across any platform will unlock a Paul Phoenix Avatar Costume Set. This contains five items that will allow a custom avatar that can be created in the game to be decked out in Paul Phoenix's classic red gear and gravity-defying hair. PlayStation pre-orders will also net platform-exclusive Mokujin and Tetsujin avatar skins, which overhaul the avatar to look like either one of Tekken's adorable training dummies.

The Tekken 8 Deluxe Edition is the most basic upgrade over the basic game. Available on digital storefronts, the Deluxe Edition raises the price from $69.99 to $99.99 and adds a variety of digital content into the mix. A Playable Character Year 1 offers four playable characters that will arrive over the course of the game's first year of operation, along with an avatar skin of Kenjin, the shining golden sub-boss from Tekken Revolution. This isn't the only glittering inclusion, as the Gold Suit Pack provides a costume that befits the name for each of the 32 playable characters in Tekken 8.

A Classic Tekken T-Shirt Set provides 32 designs as an avatar costume option, presumably correlating with the characters included in the game. Several more avatar skins are also included, representing the key characters of Tekken 8's family feud with Kazuya Mishima, Jin Kazama, and Jun Kazama. These costume skins are in addition to the Paul Phoenix pre-order set and, for PlayStation, the Mokujin and Tetsujin skins.

The Tekken 8 Collector's Edition is without a doubt the star of the line-up, particularly for those interested in physical collectibles. Available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (with a Steam code included on a card), the Collector's Edition adds a variety of contents to a big box release while including the full line-up of digital content and pre-order bonuses available in the Tekken 8 Ultimate Edition. The most striking of these inclusions is an exclusive Electrified Figurine that stands 25 centimeters, or almost ten inches, tall. This statuette showcases Jin with a glowing devil wing and a fist raised in a challenging stance.
Although none of the other Tekken 8 Collector's Edition contents make quite as much of a display piece, they still help to fill out a comprehensive package overall. A Special Face-Off Steelbook capable of housing a disc for the game depicts a duel between Jin and Kazuya as they ready punches with lightning energy crackling around them. 8 glossy Collectible Art Cards feature art and statistics for a variety of key characters in the game. The franchise's arcade origins get a nod with a five centimeter arcade token, and a metal ring honors the character Leroy Smith, first introduced in Tekken 7 and reappearing in the new title.
Where To Pre-Order Tekken 8
Pre-orders of Tekken 8's digital editions are available now on PlayStation and Xbox's standard digital storefronts along with Steam, although the content won't be accessible until 2024. The Collector's Edition can only be bought through the Bandai Namco store, which can be accessed on the publisher's website. Purchases of this edition are currently limited to one unit per customer. Most major retailers have not yet opened pre-orders for standard physical editions of the game, although these can be expected to appear through all the standard avenues ahead of Tekken 8's release.
Most of the principal Tekken 8 content will be included in any purchase of the game, with many of the bonuses for pre-orders and various editions of the title focusing on cosmetics or collectibles. The biggest addition to gameplay comes in the form of the four playable characters that will be unlocked over the course of the Year 1 , which is available in all the game's special editions.
