The cast was incredible! Cynthia, Ariana and Jonathan really knocked it out of the park with their talent and charm. Cynthia has an incredible voice and acting talent, Jonathan may not be in the movie too much but he certainty commands the scenes he's in and I had no idea he could sing. Ariana, def the best I've seen of her in singing. John Chu does a great job with this film+ franchise. I was delighted watching it. The last scene??? wow! Loved it! Can't wait to see what part 2 has in store.

I saw the Broadway show when it a few years after it opened and Wicked immediately became one of my very favorite musicals. What I saw on stage matched exactly to the film and there were no new songs. The film expanded on explanations - Elphaba's childhood, her anger and the powers, her mother's green bottle kept under her pillow and explaining why her sister, Nessa, is in the wheelchair. The cast is great and I loved the scene in Emerald City when Kristin Chenowenth and Idina Menzel , the Broadway's original Glinda & Elphaba, appeared singing in the "Wizomania" Show. Everything was wonderful - cast, singing, dancing, scenery...Please consider your child(ren)'s ages. There are scary scenes. However, Wicked is great for teaching being friends and not to judge people on the outside appearance.

Trivia Time: When Wicked opened on Broadway in 2004, All The Theater Critics, TV, Radio, Newspapers & Magazines Hated It & Said It Would Close Down. It is now 24 Years Later & Wicked Is Now The 2nd Longest Running Broadway Musical - Phantom Of The Opera is #1. As for tickets sales, Wicked has earned almost $2 Billion. Idina Menzel, Broadway's Elphaba, won the Tony (Broadway's Oscar) for Best Leading Actress In A Musical.

My Advice - Ignore the critics. If you really want to see a show, film, concert, etc. go see it. It's the audience, the public that counts. Everyone who saw/goes sees them are the real critics.

A magical movie from beginning to end that is anchored by two pitch perfect leads. You can clearly tell that everyone involved in the making of this film truly loved and respected the source material and it shows in every scene.

Casting is truly wonderful I love how they represent everyone and the costumes are wonderful. This movie was so well made and I’m so glad it is so close to the play. I love that they could bring in the original actors from the Wizard of Oz and let them be a part of this journey. Just a beautifully made film.

Just to start off I've never been a huge fan of musicals. But this movie changed everything. I saw it opening night and have gone several more times. It gets better every time. Ariana Grande does a fantastic job as Galinda and her performance of "Popular" deserves an Oscar. The choreography was phenomenal and her vocals were some of her best ever. Cynthia Ervio brought such an emotional connection to the character of Elphaba. My first time watching I thought she was giving off emo vibes but the second time around I really noticed her character as a tragic hero. She's been a good person but she just isn't understood. When she is finally understood and is able to prove herself she is marked as wicked because she disagrees with the wizard. Overall a fantastic movie that I will definitely watch many more times. For anyone who doesn't like musicals this movie changed me; it can change you too.

Couldn't wait to see the film as love the show and was not disappointed, 4th time of watching it and each time it gets better , already pre ordered film to Sky. Well done to all who worked on it and starred in it. A brilliant film 🎥.

Why did they have to make it so emotional!?

Absolutely fantastic! Other actors in the various roles were great no doubt and truly worthy of Tony and Grammy awards but the 2 primary characters of Elpheba and Galinda (Glinda) were just waiting for the right time and right place and most emphatically the right actors to bring them to life as they were on Broadway. Just fantastic!

These 2 actresses were mentioned for this role at this time. The vocal matching and ease of their relationship is amazing.

I know there were others considered, but these 2, outside of the Broadway actresses that cemented this as one of the best musicals ever written, had the chops for it.

There is a natural chemistry with them. Grande and Erivo are stellar.

Wonderful and exciting to watch. Oscar worthy and can't wait to see Part 2.

I immediately got a rascist vibe watching the movie even if a black woman was not playing Elphaba, I would have felt the same way. And I felt that way about the poor animals too. All because they are different, just like today...But, I enjoyed all the wonderful acting and singing AND dancing!! That was of course, because of the wonderful talents of Cynthia Erivo and Ariande Grande! The parts were meant for them!

This person is not the lead or any main character so it's only so much they can give to each one within movie time and adding scenes imagery, it's so much more to a movie and so much to cut it down and still keep thee main ingredients.

While the 2.5-hour runtime occasionally drags and some visual choices fall flat, the film succeeds where it matters most. The production design dazzles, the music resonates, and the core message about friendship and identity feels more relevant than ever. Though splitting the story in two leaves audiences hanging, Wicked: Part One delivers enough magic to enchant both longtime fans and newcomers alike.

Thank Goodness I have been awaiting this release for months if not years, and it did not disappoint! A wickedly delicious film that leaves you wanting more, each song hits every note perfectly!
