  • WALL-E is unforgettable and considered a Disney classic for good reason. The whimsical robots, strong environmental messages, and frank warning about the consequences of misusing natural resources make it not just an entertaining piece of media, but a necessary one.

  • Love just hanging around with my guy, Wall-E. The beginning of this film is so relaxing. I could have watched it for hours. An interesting premise that is surprisingly more emotional than one might expect. Can't believe this is in the Criterion collection.

  • It's crazy how much this film conveys in the first half with barely any dialogue. Wall-E and Eve are so emotive and you can't help but root for them. The commentary on human society and how consumerism can destroy us is mildly terrifying but eye-opening, and it's the perfect introduction to such topics for the younger generation.

  • So many Pixar movies have become classics even though it's only the first 20-30 minutes that people like. Maybe they should stick to shorts. Wall-E has a beautiful beginning, featuring an almost wordless world starring a little, lonely robot. And then the rest of the movie is fatphobia.

Synopsis

Pixar's WALL-E tells the story of the titular lone robot left alone on an uninhabitable Earth in the distant future. Tasked with cleaning away the endless mountains of the varied waste discarded by humanity before they left the planet, WALL-E spends his days collecting salvageable parts and items of interest. When he finds a plant, another robot arrives to collect the sample, taking WALL-E to the remnants of humanity, who have all grown morbidly obese through consistent inactivity while living in luxury on a space cruiser.

Wall-E Review
8/10

Technically Wall-E is the best film Pixar has made - it's funny and heartwarming, but it's also the preachiest.
