  • If you think you love Up, ask yourself, do you really love this movie? Or do you love the short film at the beginning of this movie? I think the answer is largely the latter, and then Pixar had to fill out another hour and twenty minutes.

  • I love Disney Up for its heartwarming moments about how an old man named Carl (Ed Asner) and his journey to Paradise Falls with Russell the Wilderness Explorer while meeting Kevin the rare bird and Dug the talking dog. My favorite quotes are from Dug saying: "SQUIRREL!" and "I do not like the cone of shame."

  • If I were rating the first 10 minutes, Up gets a 5/5. However, Up's villain is not actually that strong upon rewatch, and while the story between Russell and Carl is heartwarming, the film ultimately sacrifices their screen time in order to implement a less interesting plot with the blimp. Fantastic and touching opening though.

  • Up tricks viewers into think that it will be one of the best movies ever at the beginning. A bit of hyperbole, but the beginning is so great that the rest doesn't quite live up to the same narrative highs. Still, Up is a heartfelt tribute to love and not throwing in the towel when you think the best part of your life is over. Keep going. It's what they would have wanted.

  • Up is a true adventure from start to finish. The characters are lovable, the plot is gripping, and this movie always brings me to tears at least once everytime I watch it. A phenomenal representation of what a Disney movie should be.

Pixar's Up follows widower Carl (Ed Asner) who travels to South America with young wilderness explorer Russell (Jordan Nagai) by attaching thousands of balloons to his home after the bank threatens to foreclose on it. Discovering the legendary Paradise Falls, Carl meets his childhood hero, explorer Charles Muntz. However, Muntz isn't the kind-hearted man Carl hoped he would be, and the grieving widower finds himself pitted against his former idol.
