As someone who played the video game, they did a great job adapting it. Was skeptical of Pascal's casting originally but he did well in the role.

I won't be watching the rest of the season after episode 2

This show is Woke, all about message.

First season was about Gay sex and second season is about Lesbian. Completely disrespecting other cultures that don't condone homosexuality, it is a sin even in Bible. Kids in home are not safe from these since these are TV shows.

Here is how plot is so excruciatingly annoying and painful to watch, specially in Season 2.

* Ellie is an utter annoying, disrespectful teenager. She doesn't respect anyone, doesn't follow her team leader, always putting everyone in danger. 

* She is pissed on Joel because he saved her but not disclosing he immunity to anyone. If she is so noble then who is stopping her from telling everyone? This is how stupid this show is. 

* All Male characters are women bootlickers in this show, everyone made a cry baby. 

* Typical Hollywood woke agenda, homosexuality, Women showing Men their place etc. 

....

If you care your childs safety, do not run any hollywood tc shows in your house cause you never know what's gonna pop up.

Movie I’m just waiting for season two to come out

This new season is very disappointing!! It's got no storyline! These sex scenes with the girls are ridiculous! Keep it as a game only!!

I am a player of both part 1 and 2 games. I know there was a lot of controversy over the plot of game 2 and that has biased a ton of those players when it comes to the game. Even though I understand those frustrations, I wanted to watch the HBO adaptation for what it is separate from the game. I love it! Season 1 was powerful and I bought the chemistry between Joel and Ellie. Now is season 2 I love the expanded cast and am on board as Ellie seeks revenge for Joel's brutal murder. The directing is incredible and I love the actors. I would just ask new viewers to ignore the noise in YouTube and give the show a chance.

The Last of Us is a stunning example of how to make a stellar adaptation. The series hits many of the major beats of the original video game, while still expanding its lore and giving more air time to characters that were relegated to the DLC or smaller storylines in the game (e.g. Bill and Frank), Riley. I walked away wowed by so many individual episodes, and the steller performances leave this with so much rewatchability. I can't wait for season 2!

Season one was much better than season two. I just watched episode four and the show is beginning to drag on. I hope the rest of season two gets a pick me up from now on. The show needs to stay focused!

Best video game adaptation

Vastly exceeds its video game source material through strong casting and inspired writing choices. Two leads have the chemistry to pull off a story of mutual loss and growth. Only a little ableist.

I'm not a homophobe, and think season 2 is great

A great adaptation but I still think it should of been 10 episodes. I just wanted more but that just shows how much of an outstanding job everyone did on this program in of bringing this masterpiece to life on the screen for television.

On every level, this series has truly been phenomenal. The fact that it has been review-bombed by trolls for inclusitivity, like in the games and IN real life, makes me even more giddy.

I was not happy to see Joel die so early in the season. It does affect how or if I finish this season because Joel and Ellie never resolved their issues and that part of their relationship was so important for her to move on and learn so much from him.

Something has been bugging me following the ending of E2. So, 5 people arrive at the lodge on foot. One leaves (Abby) and returns later with two others (Joel & Dina) on two horses. Ellie arrives later on horse, and she see the first two horses tied up. Then Jesse arrives at the end - near the original five leaving on foot. But at the end, three are leaving on two horses, with one being dragged, and we see the five walking back towards Seattle.

So...what happened to the other two horses?

Moody, compelling drama that may be the only American show in history to have too few episodes. The show rushes Joel and Ellie's journey at some key point, eliding their transformation from reluctant companions to found family. The acting is fantastic and the deviations from the game add the sense of an even wider world, but this story needed some more room to breathe when its central relationship is so important.
