  • Life will make more sense when you’re with the right person.

Can you ever truly know someone completely? Maybe not—but when that person treats you right and goes out of their way to make you feel special, nothing else matters. Time, distance, or circumstance can’t stand in the way. That’s the kind of love ‘The Holiday’ explores, and it’s an absolute joy to watch.

The story follows two women, seeking a fresh start, swap homes for the holidays—one heading to a snowy English village, the other to a sunny LA mansion. What starts as an escape soon turns into something much more meaningful, as they meet unexpected people who show them love, kindness, and the importance of taking chances. The performances are charming and real, capturing the emotions of love, vulnerability, and joy without being overly dramatic.

If you enjoy feel-good holiday movies that are cozy, romantic, and full of heart—with just the right touch of happy endings , ‘The Holiday’ is the perfect pick. It’s a reminder that sometimes, love and happiness come when and where you least expect them.

  • The Holiday might be one of the most underrated holiday romances of all time. It often gets overlooked in discussions about great holiday movies. Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, however, are superb as the leading ladies here. Winslet's storyline is, arguably, the more compelling of the two, but that's also partly because she has Jack Black to play off of in her more comedic scenes.

  • I adore everything about this movie. Jack Black and Kate Winslet shine though and seeing them together at the end is so satisfying. Jude Law is fantastic in this and his vulnerability as a single dad really ties it together. I love where this went and how it ended. Watch it every Christmas. One of my favorite holiday movies.

  • I love The Holiday. The characters are all charming and funny, making it easy to root for them. Jack Black is particularly hilarious in the film, showcasing a goofy and eccentric personality. I enjoy the dichotomy between the two different cultures showcased throughout the movie. This is definitely one of the best holiday movies, and I've even been known to occasionally watch it at other times of the year.
