The Call of the Wild is the film adaptation of Jack London's adventure novel that tells the story of Buck, a big and kindly dog whose life is uprooted when he is stolen from his home and sold off to a man in the wilds of the Alaskan Yukon. Set during the Gold Rush of the 1890s, Buck becomes a member of a mail delivery dog sled team and, in the process, builds a friendship with an older frontiersman named Thornton as he acclimates to the wild and finds a new place in the world.
Though it lacks the grit and gristle of the best London adaptations, The Call of the Wild is elevated by Harrison Ford and a very good CGI doggo.
