System Shock is a 2023 remake of the original 1994 title, now developed by Nightdive Studios. Set in the year 2072, a security hacker is taken aboard a space station after a botched hacking attempt forces him to accept a deal. The hacker must hack an AI known as Shodan, which helps maintain the station. Things go awry when the hacker wakes up months after a medically induced coma to discover that SHODAN has gone rogue and now controls the station and is planning to destroy Earth. Players will solve puzzles and engage in first-person combat to face the highly intelligent AI and stop her from destroying the planet.
