After Andor, what kind of grounded Star Wars story would you like to see next?
I really hope Lucasfilm finds a way to keep grounded stories going after Andor. One option could be a series about Bail Organa which aso feature Leia, or even Saw Gerrera's Partisans. The opportunity to explore the Star Wars galaxy with such a real lens has been fascinating. I certainly hope conversations for the future are happening behind-the-scenes.
What Star Wars Tales series do you want to see next after Underworld?
So far we've had Tales of the Jedi, Tales of the Empire, and now Tales of the Underworld. Brand-new stories have been told featuring Dooku, Ahsoka, Morgan Elsbeth, Barris Offee, Asajj Ventress, and Cad Bane. However, I'd love it if the next series was "Tales of the New Republic", providing unique stories animation could uniquely provide, like Princess Leia during the early days of the new democratic government, or even Luke training Ben Solo befor he fell to the dark side.
Is there a Star Wars collectible you've always wanted, but still don't have?
Star Wars Day is tomorrow, May the Fourth. That means there's going to be all kinds of different sales on collectibles, licensed products, and more. While I'm a big LEGO fan and have more than a few different models, I still don't have an AT-AT. I've been collecting for over 20 years, and somehow I don't have one of the most iconic Imperial vehicles (one day I will).
What did you think about Andor season 2 episodes 4-6?
Andor season 2 episodes 4-6 were just as impressive as the premiere episodes. Set a year closer to Rogue One and A New Hope in 3 BBY, it's fascinating to see how the revolution is picking up...as well as the Empire's oppression on Ghorman. I was floored by Saw Gerrera's conversation with Wilmon, and I Ioved seeing Mon Mothma go head to head with Director Krennic. I can't believe we're only halfway through season 2.
Pick a Star Wars character you think most deserves their own movie or show.
If Lucasfilm approached me and wanted me to pick just one Star Wars character to get their very own series or movie, it would have to be General Grievous. A proud Kaleesh warrior who was manipulated and duped by Count Dooku into becoming the leader of the Separatist Droid Army, I feel like Revenge of the Sith and even the canonical Clone Wars series only scratched the surface of Grievous' tragic story, and just how horrifying he can be.
Lucasfilm has the model, would you be into an animated Clone Wars style-Darth Vader series?
Darth Maul is getting his own animated series, and I do think animation is the best medium for his character, given how popular Sam Witwer's performance as Maul has become over the years. However, I think animation could also be how we finally get a Darth Vader series, perhaps one set in the Dark Time that echoes the iconic 2017 comic series. Lucasfilm has the model for a Clone Wars-style Vader thanks to the finale episode, so why not use it? There could also be key flashbacks to Anakin, allowing Matt Lanter to return.
After Andor, what Star Wars show are you most excited for?
We're about halfway through Andor season 2 with two more weeks to go. Tales of the Underworld is to drop in between on May the Fourth, Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3 is releasing later this year, and 2026 will see the release of Maul: Shadow Lord and Ahsoka Season 2. If I had to pick, I think I'm the most excited for Ahsoka season 2 (though Maul isn't far behind). It should be very cool to learn more about Maul's activities running Crimson Dawn during the Dark Times.
Do you think Rogue One is the best Star Wars movie (if so, why?)
Rogue One is always going to be in my top three favorite Star Wars movies. Connecting to both the prequels and original trilogy, Rogue One feels like a prime culmination of everything that Star Wars could and should be. Even if Darth Vader's iconic scenes weren't in the movie, Rogue One would still be one of my top favorites, and I'm so glad Andor exists as a show that is very much in the same wheelhouse and does the work of setting up the 2016 movie.
Did you like Saw Gerrerra's monologue with Wil in Andor Season 2?
Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera had an incredibly poignant moment in Andor season 2, episode 5, encouraging a young man to his Partisans while urging him to breathe in toxic fumes from volatile starfighter fuel. Sharing that "revolution is not for the sane" and that they themselves are the fuel of rebellion, it's a powerful yet very unhinged monologue that I found to be one of the best parts of the second season so far.
What did you think of Andor recasting Bail Organa?
Benjamin Bratt portrays the iconic Bail Organa in Andor season 2. The role has been made famous by Jimmy Smitts, but showrunner Tony Gilroy explained that even though they tried to get the actor to reprise the role, scheduling conflicts with another series he was in made it impossible. I thought Bratt did a great job of playing the character with the same mix of levity and gravitas that Smitts brought to the role. However, I still found it jarring to see the character portrayed by another person.
If Asajj Ventress were to ever get a live-action debut, who woud you cast?
Asajj Ventress has never made it beyond animation in the Star Wars galaxy, and she's only been referenced once in live-action by Anakin Skywalker in 2023's Ahsoka. If she were to one day make an appearance in live-action, I'd love to see someone like Charlize Theron bring the former Sith assassin to life, as I think she could do a great job capturing the character's likeness and complexities.
Do you think Andor will featue any Rebels characters and/or references?
As much as I'd love it, I don't think we'll be seeing any major Rebels characters appear in Andor season 2. However, it's worth noting that when Mon Mothma eventually flees Coruscant, it's the Ghost crew who gets her to safety to unify various Rebel cells together for the first time. I feel like a moment as big as that should at least get referenced. Conversely, I love to see a small cameo or reference to the ISB's Agent Kallus at some point.
What's your favorite quote from Revenge of the Sith?
I saw the 20th anniversary re-release of Revenge of the Sith this weekend, and it always blows my mind just hw many epic quotes are in the final prequel movie that have become iconic over the last two decades. You can't not love "This is where the fun begins" and "Hello There", but I'd be lying if I didnt' it that I have Anakin and Obi-Wan entire pre-duel Mustafar conversation memorized. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes".
What's your biggest hope for the Darth Maul animated series coming in 2026?
My biggest hope for Maul: Shadow Lord in 2026 is that we get some clear answers about Maul's thought processes during the Dark Times, specifically how he views his old master ruling the entire galaxy. I'm also really hoping for a canonical Darth Talon, which does seem likely considering the young Twi'lek girl who was heavily featured in the Star Wars Celebration footage.
What was your favorite moment in Andor season 2 episodes 1-3?
My favorite moment in Andor episodes 1-3 was definitely Andor stealing the TIE Avenger, though I also loved the Yavin 4 reveal at the end of episode 2. Likewise, the moment where Mon Mothma feels so helpless that all she can do is dance at the wedding was a tragically powerful moment, and I'm so glad her character is getting the spotlight she always deserved.
Which Star Wars video game character is your favorite?
There are some truly iconic Star Wars video game characters, and my favorite is a major tie between Starkiller from the Force Unleashed games and Cal Kestis from EA's Jedi games. Despite Starkiller now bein Legends, both existed during the Dark Times of the Empire's rule and their stories are absolutely iconic.
Do you agree with Samuel L. Jackson that Mace Windu survived Revenge of the Sith?
Samuel L. Jackson recently surprised audiences at a screening of the Revenge of the Sith 20th anniversary alongside Hayden Christensen. Reiterating once more that he believes Mace Windu survived his duel with Palpatine and his fall out of a window, I'd like nothing more than to believe him. A Mace Windu Jedi survivor story is just begging to be told, even if it ends with the powerful Jedi being taken down by Darth Vader and his Inquisitors.
Are you excited to see Jabba the Hutt's son return in The Mandalorian & Grogu?
It's been reported that Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta is going to have a role in The Mandalorian & Grogu, now grown up and voiced by Jeremy Allen White. This ties well with the Hutt seen in the movie's exclusive Star Wars Celebration footage, shown in an arena and looking weirdly ripped for a Hutt. Given Rotta's history with the original Clone Wars movies that preceded the series, I do think his return will be fascinating (though it's certainly a surprise).
Which of the six Star Wars movies is the most exciting?
First of all, I have to say that I'm glad we're finally getting more Star Wars movies. I'm shocked at how long The Rise of Skywalker sent Lucasfilm into disarray for, and I'm hoping that they'll be better prepared to weather the storm through any potential flops in the future. My most anticipated movie in the current slate is James Mangold's Dawn of the Jedi, as I really can't wait to see what that era looks like. I was hoping The Acolyte would satisfy the itch, but it didn't really work for me.
Where is Rogue One in your ranking of the Star Wars franchise?
With Andor season 2 having just premiered, Rogue One is back in the Star Wars fandom conversation, particularly where it sits in everyone's rankings of the franchise. For me, I think the movie sits as my third favorite installment in the series behind The Last Jedi and The Empire Strikes Back, as it did something completely original with its story, even while having some canonical restrictions, and showcased just how great a non-Skywalker-focused story could be.
