WHERE TO WATCH

  • Spirited away is probably Hayao Miyazaki at his most creative. Which is wild to say considering is filmography. Love how much of Chihiro grows throughout the film. It sneaks up on you in that way. Some truly breathtaking animations that looks better than 3D could ever hope to be. Full of hope, love and joy. What a movie.

  • As simplistic as Spirited Away's story may be, between the strong character writing and its gorgeous artwork and animation, it still stands out as one of the greatest Studio Ghibli films of all time. Few animated films have left as much of an impact on the medium as Spirited Away, and it more than earns that stellar reputation.

  • Whimsical, emotional, and hopeful. Spirited Away is an inspired movie enjoyable by all ages. Following the story of Chihiro, watchers are taken to a mysterious, lively bathhouse between worlds. A perfect balance of fantasy and traditional Japanese culture, this film is a masterpiece. As a little girl, I would be enraptured watching this film and have many daydreams about living in that world. With just the right amount of tense moments and conflict, it is a compelling watch for all ages.

  • I LOVED LOVED LOVED this incredibly beautiful and thoughtful flick that totally prompts spirit exploration. It was on my top five movies to recommend to friends for quite a number of years. I think its time I can watch with my son now who is turning 13.

  • This is the best Studio Ghibli that I can watch repeatedly for the amazing soundtrack, visuals, characters, and the exciting plot. However viewer discretion is advised because of several scary scenes that might upset children. My favorite songs are: "The Sixth Station", " Reprise", "One Summer's Day", " It's Hard Work", "The Dragon Boy", and " Always with Me."
