Most of the cast is back for one more adventure, which involves the Barden Bellas on a tour that doubles as a competition. While most of the movie works, and the cast's renditions of pop songs like "Toxic" are great, the movie doesn't live up to the first two installments. Things go a little off the rails when Amy's backstory is revealed, the presence of the Treblemakers is sorely missed, and it feels a little strange to give Beca a love interest who is also in charge of her potential music career when Beca always wanted to be a producer instead of a singer. There are as many misses in the movie as there are hits.
