Underrated Superman Movie. From Clark's emotional arc to a very honest approach to the introduction of Superman in the interview with Lois Lane while he was detained., this movie grounds the character like it never has being grounded before. The choice he makes at the end of the movie is heartbreaking, and it confirms his humanity, choosing to save people from his real home, over the people from his birth world. The characters are extremely well played, the chemistry is amazing and the character interactions are beyond the ones portrait in most superhero movies.

Our Superman.

As someone who has yet to read the comics and has only a basic-level understanding of the character, I think Man of Steel is a fantastic film. Henry Cavill's performance is likable and physically exactly how I'd imagine Superman to look. The performances combined with Hans Zimmer's score and Zack Snyder's eye for action create many incredible moments that click in many ways. Also, I have to give credit to Michael Shannon's almost-Shakespearean and dramatic take on Zod, who is absolutely a villain that's a hero in his own eyes. Snyder's sequels try to do too much, but Man of Steel was an effective action flick with moments of great heart that helped it sing far more than it flounders. 

It’s a matter if one wants comic book characters then watch James Gunn version. To me and my opinion I would prefer to watch Zack Snyder’s version not interested in comic book versions ..!! James Gunn Superman doesn’t have the physical body to fill the Superman suit..Especially if you are looking for a Superman with the physical body which is what you see in comic books.. So thank you Zack Snyder for your version of Superman and also the Justice League Snyder’s cut . Great story, fantastic actors, good action .. Disappointed that Zack Snyder was not allowed to finish his storyline..THATS OK , WELL DONE..!!!

Henry Cavill is the perfect physical specimen for a Superman movie, and this film offers a somewhat more dramatic and intense version of the hero who is the embodiment of hope and virtue.

I think there were plenty of strong moments in the movie, but it is a tonal shift from what I have come to know and love about the hero.

Man of Steel was considered a weaker DC movie, but I actually really liked it. I'm more of an MCU fan and always have been, but this movie had enough action, drama, and emotional sway to make me really enjoy it. Superman has always been a cool character and this movie used his character very well.

good Superman film.

Part of me thinks that this is a fine start for the DCEU. It isn't a perfect movie, but it works as a first kind of steps move for Superman, finding his identity in a grittier world, yet ending with him positioned ready to be a hero. I enjoy Amy Adams Lois being the POV character for a good portion of the film ala Vicki Vale in Burton's Batman, and her journey towards finding Clark is captivating. Zod is also a pretty solid villain alongside his Kryptonian forces. But an overreliance on the bleakness and questionable character moments drag this movie down, alongsde knowing the franchise's trajectory

While Man of Steel is criticized for its more somber take on the Superman mythos and the excessive amount of violence in the second half, much of which is hard to argue with, Superman is still given a solid character arc in the story, and the incredible action accompanying it is still some of the best of any superhero film. It was a solid start to the DCEU, and the only thing really worth complaining about is how subsequent films failed to properly capitalize on that.

This movie never fails to make me tear up and certain moments. Mostly during the quiet, reflective conversations with Clark and his father. I really liked how down to earth Clark feels in this movie and Zack Snyder does really interesting work with a more handheld cinematography feel to it. Think the final battle goes on for way too long though. Shorten it 5 minutes and it is nearly perfect action.
