  • This movie is pretty forgettable to me, but I do have to praise their handling of Tony's PTSD and showing that superheroes aren't immune to trauma just because they have the strength to hold off an alien army.

  • The way this deal with the immediate aftermath of 2012's The Avengers and the effect this had on Tony Stark was the driving aspect of the third and probably last Iron Man solo picture. The Mandarin twist definitely caught me off guard, in a good way.

  • Iron Man 3 isn't a bad movie, and I prefer it more than the 2nd one, but the plot did drag in some places and it lacks the heart and charm of the first Iron Man movie.

  • As compared with the other two movies in the trilogy, Iron Man 3 really isn't great. But it does have a sweet main relationship with the kid character, and the villain himself is not too made, save some shoddy CGI.

  • Watched this a bit more recently than some of the older MCU stuff. Wanted to reevaluate it and I am glad I did. Definitely liked it better this time around and I appreciate the way Tony Stark has to work within the confines of what he has available to him while battling the PTSD that he got from almost dying in the Avengers.

Synopsis

Iron Man 3 pits genius-billionaire-playboy-philanthropist Tony Stark (Iron Man) against the Mandarin, an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his world destroyed by his mysterious antagonist, he embarks on a dangerous quest to find those responsible. His journey will test his character at every turn. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him and determine whether or not the suit makes the man or if Tony himself is the hero.
