WHERE TO WATCH

  • I n this Insidious movie, I'm captivated by the scene when Elise enters the spirit world to rescue Dalton and I was happy to see Dalton wake up from his coma.

  • Insidious is absolutely terrifying and sets the stage for the rest of the Insidious movies to come in the future. It is filled with jumpscares, so perhaps avoid this one if those aren't for you. There is a deeper story too that builds tension and suspense, making it so the movie does not have to only rely on halfhearted jumpscares.

  • First off, James Wan and Patrick Wilson can be credited to any horror movie and I will 100% be committed to watching it. Secondly, this movie is the ONLY time I have ever audibly screamed in the middle of a theater (the dining room scene). This movie is absolutely terrifying and it left me with an unease about sleeping, the way Nightmare on Elm Street used to, which I honestly feel may have inspired aspects of this. This movie doesn't opt for cheap scares, it will catch you when you least expect it and the tension is palpable by the end.

An unusual third act may turn off some viewers, but 'Insidious' - James Wan and Leigh Whannell's love letter to classic horror - delivers some of the most effective and spine-tingling scares you're ever going to see.
