  • Dial of Destiny is a prime example of "good but not great". Indy 5 does what it set out to do: to give Harrison Ford's Dr. Jones a nice ending that's fulfilling and happy. There are some dynamic action sequences, including the WWII flashback which opens the movie, though the villain could have been much better as well as the overall plot could have been a little more nuanced and dimensional. That said, Indy 5 is much better than Crystal Skull, which feels like a win in and of itself.

  • Seeing this trailer debut at Celebration London left me with high expectations, and for the most part it did feel like a worthy ending. I feel Helena was a welcome addition, and her tale perfectly aligns with Indy's, both chasing after the past because of the loss of a loved one. Ford gives his best to make his archaeologist's swansong a worthy entry, despite his age. I do feel that a lack of a memorable villain and a weaker middle act drags the movie down, but in the end its emotional arc sticks the landing.

  • The weakest Indy movie . Yes Crystal Skull has it issues (mainly Mutt Williams ) but Indy 5 is lacking. Harrison Ford is great and by far the best thing in the movie . But it's dragged down by weak direction and pacing issues and Phoebe Waller Bridge who found to be annoying ..The 3rd act was underwhelming . James Mangold is no Spielberg and it clearly shows... It's a sad attempt that shouldn't have been made.
