  • Hook is objectively not a great movie, but I have a soft spot for it in my heart. I watched it as a child and love Robin Williams performance, even if it is not nearly as good as the original Peter Pan.

  • While not the Peter Pan movie I watched most as a child, I adore this film. It's a wonderful adventure that feels in lign with other retellings of the tale, while wanting to say something about not letting go of that spark of youth. While seeing Williams and a pre-Zuko Dante Basco is a delight, Dustin Hoffman's Hook is the highlight, one of the best adaptations of the character to date and on-par with Jason Isaacs'

Synopsis

Directed by Steven Spielberg, Hook stars Robin Williams as Peter Banning, a harried American lawyer who, after his children are kidnapped by Captain Hook, finds out that he is Peter Pan, having lost his memories of Neverland. In order to rescue his children, Peter must find his childlike spirit of adventure and regain his memories as he does battle with Hook and his crew. Dustin Hoffman stars alongside Williams as Captain Hook, along with Julia Roberts, Maggie Smith, and Charlie Korsmo.
