One of my all time favorite movies, not to mention how utterly quotable it is. Incredibly timeless and insanely funny, great use of dark humor. Great stuff.

Heathers is dark and gritty, setting it apart from other comedies and giving it a more grim tone. However, there is a thread of humor woven through the story too, making for a really interesting and unique watching experience that is both funny and disturbing.

A very dark comedy from the 1980s for all the girls who could never make friends with the popular clique. Veronica and JD take matters into their own hands, killing their bullies one by one to try to alleviate some high school teen angst. However, they just create new problems, as anyone could predict.

It's just not possible to watch Heathers today as it was intended, when the meaning and context of school violence has rightly changed so much. A genuinely dark comedy in which Winona Ryder and Christian Slater are in on the joke, Heather is fun, but it can also only exist uncomfortably out of time.
