Synopsis

Even with special effects and technology improvements, nothing comes close to what LOTR was able to accomplish for cinema.

I don't like the Lord of Rings for its backward-looking, traditionalist morality and default-patriarchal storytelling in a world where anything should be possible, but even I'll it these are great movies. Movie-making as craft rather than as product.
