Synopsis
Based on the book series of the same name by R.L. Stine, Fear Street: Part One - 1994 takes place in the supposedly cursed town of Shadyside. After the latest string of brutally violent murders rocks the town, a group of teens begins investigating an ancient curse thought to be the source of Shadyside's misfortunes. Set in 1994, Fear Street: Part One begins the Fear Street trilogy, starting a story that spans back centuries.

Fear Street Part 1: 1994 is a perfectly fine throwback slasher horror movie, but is weighed down by setting up the rest of Netflix's trilogy.

Unfortunately, it's also very clear that this is the first in a trilogy and is meant to set up the rest of the story to come. It has the misfortune of being responsible for showing the audience the major players in the story without truly being able to resolve any of the plot lines.
