I'll never get tired of a good "teen movie adapts classic literature" flick, and Easy A is an important part of that genre. It gave Emma Stone a breakout role as a great comedic actress who can handle anything you throw at her.

Aside from Superbad, Easy A definitely feels like Emma Stone's breakout role. This moving is pretty funny with some heartfelt moments throughout. Love how it is basically a modern take on the Scarlet Letter and enjoy how it references that at different points in the movie.

Before seeing this movie, if someone had told me there was a modern adaptation of The Scarlet Letter, I would have said it wouldn't work well. As a society, however, we really haven't moved all that far from being judgmental about those around us, especially when it comes to relationships and sexuality. That was true when Easy A was made, and it's true now. Emma Stone is hilarious in this movie, and it's definitely become a favorite with how well she handles Olive's turn to being the embodiment of the Scarlet Letter. It's also one of the best uses of Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful of Sunshine" I've ever seen.
