In Dead Space, a small team is sent to investigate the USG Ishimura, a planet-mining space vessel, due to its illegal mining operation and recent radio silence. Unfortunately, they discover the cause is far more terrifying than they could have imagined. Players assume the role of engineer Isaac Clarke, who s officers Kendra and Hammond to help with their work - but also to find his girlfriend on the ship who left him a concerning message before the ship went silent. After a rocky arrival, things go from bad to worse when the team discovers the ship has been overrun with undead parasitic beings known as Necromorphs. The investigation was the mission - survival is the priority.
