Candyman
This sequel to the 1992 movie of the same name follows artist Anthony McCoy as he investigates the urban legend of the Candyman, a hook-handed killer who haunts the impoverished Cabrini-Green housing projects. As McCoy finds himself drawn deeper into the legend of the Candyman, he begins to learn the horrifying truth: the myth is much more dangerous than he ever could have imagined.

In dual parts serves as a great spiritual sequel that respects the original material while also being an outstanding commentary piece that stands on its own.
This is genuinely entertaining, and I can definitely appreciate the attempt at remaking a difficult story in the context of gentrification, and other hot-button issues. It did feel like kind of a wannabe version of other, better social commentary focused horror.
A worthy sequel to the legacy of the first film. Let’s pretend Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh doesn’t exist. Better focused and better paced than the original.
