Bottoms already has a loyal following, and has all the makings of becoming a cult classic. It nails the quirky, awkward vibe of the coming-of-age genre while taking some jabs at its stereotypes too. There are tender, emotionally-charged moments sprinkled here and there but at its core, Bottoms knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. The film is absurd and unapologetically queer with standout performances from every cast member.
