Arrested Development is one of the funniest sitcoms with so many brilliant jokes and callbacks. It isn't my favorite comedy series of all time, but it is definitely a good one.

One of the most technically proficient comedies of all time, Arrested Development did what almost no comedy does and played the long game, seeding jokes far, far in advance of when it planned to pull out the punchline. Despite that, whenever I try to rewatch it, I don't find anything new to enjoy.

When it was good, it was really, really amazing. The first three seasons are instant classics, and the fourth season (first on Netflix) was great, no matter what anyone tells you about not getting the discontinuous narrative. Marred by the knowledge of bad on-set behavior from Jeffrey Tambor, but still an excellent comedy about the incompetence of the very rich.

"There's always money in the banana stand" went a long way into shaping my sense of humor. Really, its great use of callbacks, puns, and references really influenced a lot of modern comedy. We don't get stuff like I Think You Should Leave without Arrested Development.
