  • Dark, surreal, and cynical, American Psycho is a engaging study of uber-capitalist lifestyles of Yuppies in the height of Reagan's America. As repulsive as Patrick Bateman is, seeing him descend into insanity and have his perspective on reality blur is a wild ride, and his sudden turns keep you questioning what is real and what is imaginary, especially as more and more bystanders become involved. All of this creates a tale that highlights many bleak truths.

  • Director Mary Harron turned a gross, misogynist novel into a suspenseful, darkly funny slasher that satirizes capitalism in Reagan's America. The cast is so packed with great performances, that you'd be forgiven for forgetting the entire list of everyone who's in this movie. Other films have tried to copy American Psycho's swag, but just can't quite keep up. Let's look at Paul Allen's review of the movie.

  • This is one of Bales best performances. The film is a roller coaster of extreme violence, intrigue and dark humour. Imo this is a must watch film. It's a wild ride.

  • I really like this movie, but really love that some fanboys of it doesn't realize that it is making fun of them. Christian Bale is astonishing as Patrick Bateman. His line delivery is unlike anything I have ever heard before. The business card scene is genuinely hilarious. This movie rocks.

American Psycho Review: Christian Bale Is Mesmerizingly Terrifying In Faithful-To-A-Fault Horror Adaptation
8/10

Mary Harron's American Psycho is still a masterclass in suspense and faithful adaptation, though Christian Bale's performance is still the highlight.
