Synopsis
American Idol is a reality singing competition that adds to the international "Idol" brand, conceived initially in the U.K. as Pop Idol. Holding massive auditions across the U.S., American Idol invited several contestants to perform in front of a of judges that would determine whether or not they'd go on to future rounds for a chance at competing in the fully televised premiere of the show. Contestants are voted off each week by American participation via voting through various mediums, and the winner of the competition would be given a contract with a record label to secure a future as America's next musical idol.

The judges can be especially cruel towards individuals at times. The TV show seemingly pushes through individuals who have a good backstory or are willing to humiliate themselves, even if they can't sing well. It's sad to realize that a show I once loved is really not very good. I guess that's the nature of reality TV, though.

Especially Jennifer Hudson, who didn't even win Season 3 but practically became the only other singer on par (if not, succeeded) with what Clarkson accomplished.

American Idol would not be the same without Ryan. I believe the show should stop the long back stories of contestants and show more how the Judges mentor the contestants. Ryan is doing what he does - a wonderful job interacting with the contestants.

I was an avid watcher of American Idol from seasons 8 to 15, and I think the series really should've just ended when it was supposed to. Spending all of season 15 emphasizing how it was the last season and making the finale a huge sendoff, just to renew the season the next year when no one asked for it was confusing and anticlimactic. During its peak, American Idol undeniably made superstars and the Hollywood week portion was always something I looked forward to. However, it became clear as it neared the (supposed) end of season 15 that it wasn't really so much about the singing abilities but more about the backstories and personalities.

However, at this point, it feels like it has been going on for too long and lost the popularity and wow factor it once had.

Idol was once a powerhouse of talent and entertainment, but like all things, it had its time, and that time has long ed with Ryan Seacrest being the only consistent bright spot. The show continues to struggle with its judging , offering a rotating cast of underwhelming critiques and forced enthusiasm.
Luke Bryan’s rarely moves beyond an irritating laugh, Carrie Underwood looks like she’d rather be anywhere else, and Lionel Richie has turned into a broken record, shouting “vote!” at every turn, especially when a Black contestant is on stage, making his racial favoritism both loud and obvious.
The contestant quality has slightly improved, though it's unclear how they're being screened. Still, the show feels more scripted than ever. I’m convinced the outcomes are predetermined, and the voting process is just smoke to give viewers the illusion of control.
In truth, I keep watching only because there’s little else on, and I enjoy hearing people sing. But Idol is now little more than a stale, drawn-out Disney ment. Time to let it go and let the legacy

There were singers that should not have been limited before others!
These singers were so good that the show should partner with singer celebrities to win a spot to tour with Artist for 5 or more shows as a winner's up spots. This way its a win win. Promoting talent!!

Has anyone else noticed how Lionel gets excited after a black contestant performs? He usually tells the viewers and the audience to “Vote, vote, vote!” after that performance, as well. Not fair, Lionel!
