  • It's twee and quirky and manic pixie dream girly, but it was one of the first of the new millennium to do it, so it gets a . This movie is like a warm cup of cocoa on a snowy day; it lifts you up, makes you happy, and gives you the energy to keep going forward.

  • I love watching people fall in love and I love watching Amelie be her quirky little self in this one. This movie marches to the beat of it's own drum, celebrating people and all their intricacies. Emotionally satisfying by the end too.

Synopsis

With a story and screenplay by Guillaume Laurant and direction from Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Amelie is a Romantic Comedy presented in the French language. The 2001 release stars Audrey Tautou as Amelie, an isolated young waitress who sets out to solve her own problems by helping those around her.
