Synopsis
Based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, 10 Things I Hate About You is a modern retelling of the classic play, set against the backdrop of a 90s Seattle high school. When social outcast Patrick Verona is paid to try and win over antisocial Kat Stratford in order so her younger sister will be allowed to date, he and Kat find an unexpected connection forming between them. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger star as Kat and Patrick, with a further cast that includes Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Larisa Oleynik, David Krumholtz, Andrew Keegan, and Larry Miller.

Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles are electric in this. Love their chemistry together. A classic of the late 90s. Love when she reads her poem to the class.

A classic rom-com worthy of celebration, modernising Shakespeare with 90's charm and a killer soundtrack. I think everyone can find something relatable with these characters, and that's what will keep people coming back and even more falling in love with it. It knows when to play its teen drama straight and hit home an emotional moment, but isn't afraid to embrace a sillier, more hopeful tone, making it a idea tale of young love that can remain beloved to this day.

The movie is packed with famous actors when they were earlier in their careers (RIP Heath Ledger). It has a wonderful balance of emotional moments and zany antics, creating a good flow. By the end, your heart will be broken and then stitched back up again.
