The first trailer for James Gunn's DC Universe officially started with the animated Creature Commandos series, 2025's Superman reboot will be the franchise's first feature film. The movie will introduce David Corenswet as the latest live-action depiction of DC Comics' Superman, and the first official trailer for 2025's Superman has shown just how perfect he will be in the role.

Superman's first trailer puts David Corenswet's Man of Steel front-and-center, while also showing him off in his Clark Kent guise and introducing Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor and many more. The trailer's release has ignited new excitement for actors have played Superman in live-action.

David Corenswet's Height Breaks A Superman Movie Record

David Corenswet Is The Tallest Superman Since Christopher Reeve

At a whopping 6' 4", David Corenswet is the tallest actor to portray Superman in live-action since Christopher Reeve, who was also 6' 4". No other live-action Man of Steel has been this tall since the late Christopher Reeve last played Superman in 1987's Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, 37 years ago. Some actors, such as Tom Welling, Brandon Routh and George Reeves, came close, but only David Corenswet has been able to match Reeve's height, and this is very noticeable in the trailer for 2025's Superman.

How The Superman Trailer Perfectly Shows Off David Corenswet's Height

David Corenswet Is Noticeably Tall In Superman's Trailer

Superman Teaser Trailer scene with Clark Kent in a crowd

The new Superman trailer does a fantastic job of putting David Corenswet's height on display, and this is most noticeable during scenes where he appears in his Clark Kent guise. Particularly at the beginning of the trailer, which sees Clark Kent rushing through the streets of Metropolis to get to work at the Daily Planet, he towers above everybody else on the street, drawing our eyes to him immediately. This is a fantastic trick by James Gunn, ensuring we know that Corenswet is the lead of the movie, even though Superman's impressive cast is crammed full of many other stars.

When in his full Superman costume, David Corenswet's height makes the new Man of Steel a very commanding presence. Everybody knows he's there, and this also highlights the superiority of his powers and his extraterrestrial origins. Superman is the quintessential superhero in DC Comics, tall and handsome and supremely powerful, and the first trailer for 2025's Superman doesn't shy away from this, and even stresses how back-to-basics and rooted in comic lore this new version of Kal-El will be, which is incredibly exciting.
