Morgan Edge’s minions are no match for Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) on John Henry Irons (Wolé Parks) warned them about by transferring Kryptonian minds into human bodies.
When the Kryptonian spirits took over they possessed the abilities of Superman, including flight, heat-ray vision, super speed, and more. In Superman & Lois season 1, episode 10, titled “O Mother, Where Art Thou?”, it was discovered that Edge had already created a lot more Kryptonians than originally thought. In the final battle, Clark had a whole swarm of them after him. Superman’s encounters with the Kryptonians made one thing clear: he’s vastly more powerful than they are
Clark easily dispatched a Kryptonian-possessed Kyle (Erik Valdez) and made short work of some of the others too. In episode 10, Clark being in a different league to them was acknowledged by the show’s villains and its heroes, who all seem to understand that none have what it takes to beat Superman alone. As for what makes Superman the ultimate opponent for Morgan Edge’s army, it appears one of his biggest advantages over them is the length of his exposure to the yellow sun. Clark has been soaking up its solar energies for decades, whereas Edge’s lackeys have only recently acquired their powers. Plus, he’s had his entire life to grow accustomed to his capabilities.
The time Clark spent under the yellow sun is one key difference between him and Edge’s army, but it’s not the only one. It’s worth noting that, unlike Superman, Kyle, Leslie Larr (Stacey Farber), Emily (Leaah Wong) and the others aren’t actual Kryptonians. They have access to many of his abilities, but they still inhabit human bodies held back by physical limitations Clark doesn’t have. Superman’s Kryptonian body possesses a tremendous amount of natural strength that Edge’s machine may not be capable of recreating.
Perhaps the only Kryptonian in Superman & Lois who can go toe-to-toe with him is Edge himself, who turned out to be the secret son of Lara-El, Tal-Roh. Edge, who has been living on Earth longer than Clark, may prove strong enough to match him in a fight. He too grew up under the rays of the yellow sun, so he’s sure to emerge as a formidable adversary. Morgan Edge may not have the power needed to win though, which could be why he hasn’t personally tried to take Clark out yet. Superman eliminating the majority of his army was a huge win, but he still has his evil half-brother to deal with.
